Looking for Dragon Riders!! (Free Form, Adult)
Rebooting the game!
The Dragons are the oldest living species known on the continent of Nix't Astal. They come in many different sizes and shapes. Only about a quarter of the Dragon population are willing, and destined to have Riders. This tradition started two thousand years ago, and the Riders were Elven. It wasn't until eight hundred years ago that Humans started becoming Riders as well. Riders, like Dragons, come about differently.
The Riders responsibilities don't vary much. Primarily, their main focus is to keep the peace between various cultures. They do this by settling conflicts before it comes to war. If war does come along, the Dragon and Rider must not take a side, they are to remain neutral, and intercede only by stopping the war. Usually by arranging a meeting between the opposing leaders of the war. Essentially, the Dragon and Rider are messengers, but very powerful messengers. If a Dragon and their Rider is seen fighting in a battle, it is most likely that they are fighting against both sides, to try and stop, very rarely are they choosing one specific side.
These days however, the Riders and Dragons have chosen a side to fight on and fight for. Their own. Non Bonded Dragons are being hunted and killed off. Will the Riders and their Dragons find a way to rescue them? Will they figure out who is actually behind all of this?
So some of the basic rules (okay, there are only two) in terms of choosing the TYPE of Rider you are:
Marked: This type of Rider is where you were born to be a Rider, your character should have some kind of mark on them, whether its a Dragon's scale somewhere on their skin, eyes that have vertical slits, or are a vibrant shade of blue, purple, green, gold, silver (anything that isn't your typical shade of human eyes), or a simple birthmark that is almost like a tattoo in the shape of a Dragon. My character, for example, has a large Dragon Shaped tattoo-like birth mark on her back. Typically, when the Marked Rider is born, their Dragon will hatch either the day before, day of, or day after their birth. I'll leave it to you to decide how long it takes for the Dragon and Rider to find each other.
Chosen: This type of Rider is fairly self explanatory. They wont have a Mark on them, because they were chosen by their Dragon, whether they wanted it or not. They're different from Marked Riders only in the aspect that they can probably take longer in accepting the fact that they're a Rider, instead of being raised to know that they are bonded with a Dragon.
