Big Text

I usually just bold and underline, works out. If you large, bold, and underline, you may not have the desired size, but the underlining will separate it enough and give it a title or heading feel. ;) just what I do.

Big Text

You can use <large> up to three times on the same bit of text, so that you get large, larger, largest.

Huh.  Are there any other bits of RUBB code that stack like that?  Mainly asking as I don't think <large> is listed in the FAQs/Help pages (or at least it doesn't show up when you run a search for it), so no idea if there's other similar undocumented/obscurely documented features.

No, there's nothing else that stacks (larger text is really the only one where stacking makes sense).

Cool, thanks.
Definitely should be added to the faq as it isn't there.

How about small?

Or underline?

I too am curious, both could potentially be useful (even if small wouldn't be as often used as large).

Updated the posting help page (/help/?t=help&page=post) with most things I could remember.  I'm sure there's other pages that need updating with features that have been added along the way.

Thank you Jase.

Though is that last sentence an invitation for us to try and make a list?  ;)

I've been able to use superscript and subscript with normal sized text to make really small text that is approximately in the right place though. I did it with all caps before smallcaps was added.

Now that I think about it I think I want to try a little experiment with small, small caps, subscript, and superscript...

Sweet, I can make legal "fine print" :D.

Re: Big Text

Great. Someone is 'playing' a bureaucratic system in a game I'm running. Everything he posts is in formal legalese. If that player finds out about that combination I'm doooooomed!

Re: Big Text

Just for the sake of it:

<large><large><large>Size 6</large></large></large>
<large><large>Size 5</large></large>
<large>Size 4</large>
Size 3
<small>Size 2</small>
Size 1

And then of course the whole lot could also be done in SmallCaps too - though it makes little difference to the actual font size...

Re: Big Text

And don't forget <toosmalltosee></toosmalltosee>!

(It says "this is an example of size -1, but it is too small to see" in there, honest.  It's just too small to see.)

Re: Big Text

I did try
<small>Size 2</small>
Size 1
<small>Size 0</small>

But I found they actually come out the same size... here they are next to each other...  The second set of XXXX is exactly the same size as the first set - just 1 pixel lower on the line (at least on my screen)

XXXXXXXX

Playing around with the order of and <small>  seems only to make a difference on its vertical alignment...

Re: Big Text

Works for me in Firefox on Mac (which is what I usually use), but they come out the same size in both Safari and Chrome unless I mess with the default zoom settings.

Re: Big Text

Different sizes in Windows 8.1 for both Firefox 40.0.3 and IE 11 (11.0.9600.17937) at 1920 x 1080 resolution ... but I'd be struggling with Size1 and can't read Size0 in IE (Firefox is fine for both - seems to be rendering everything in a larger base point size).

Though strangely Utsukushi's <toosmalltosee> = Size-1 variant works equally well in both browsers ... :P

Ah - I'd not considered it might be a browser issue.   I'm currently in Safari... I'll try Firefox and see if it looks different.

Yup!  Different!  Cool!

Re: Big Text

And in the interests of complete insanity, some experimentation on the requested multiple underlines:

<u>test</u>
&macr;&macr;&macr;

<u>test</u>
&macr;&macr;&macr;&macr;

<u>test</u>
&macr;&macr;&macr;&macr;

<u>test</u>
<u>&macr;&macr;&macr;&macr;</u>

Gives:
