Font Color: Cream

Closest we have is YELLOW. Something closer to white (which I realize probably wouldn't show up real well, at least in the text editor—in the default gray scheme of posts and threads, something off-white or cream-colored might yellowish-white show up a bit more. It'd be kind of nice to have. I can get references, if we need to test it out.

Re: Font Color: Cream

When I put together the extended color set, I had to come up with two shades of each color -- one for dark backgrounds and one for light backgrounds -- that stood out on each and every background the site has, so that'd be something to come up with for "cream".   (You can see my initial tests here: http://arcadia.net/Cruinne/RPoL/testcolors-2.png)

Fire away with a "cream" shade you propose for Dark backgrounds and one you propose for Light backgrounds.  :-)

(Should note: I can't guarantee that jase will implement it, but doing the basic grunt work helps.)

Re: Font Color: Cream

So wait, if there's one light and one dark of each, where does Purple fit in?

Re: Font Color: Cream

What cruinne means is that there are two versions of each colour, one each for light and dark backgrounds, not that there are two selectable shades of each colour.

Re: Font Color: Cream

Right, I was trying to ask what purple's corresponding light/dark version was.

(also, +1 on suggested expansion of colors if it works out, because colors are fun)

The dark backgrounds in this list are the ones with "dark" in front of them?

Re: Font Color: Cream

I doubt it, I think each color is actually a different color in the dark themes. So for example aqua will look like aqua but on light theme it can't blend into the white and remain unseen, but then have to also be visible on the dark theme without being so bright that it is hard/painful to read. Much easier if you just select two similar colors, one for a light background, and one for a dark background.

(if you go to a dark background, you'll notice that the default white text is actually grey.)

Now if only I could see the colors when my computer is set to contrast theme, but for some reason for every app colors are overridden, even when the app normally wouldn't be. Have to switch themes all the time just to do programming.

Re: Font Color: Cream

I think there's some misunderstanding of what's been said.

There's four shades for every colour.

For example, orange is actually a different colour depending upon the theme you're using:
  • When using a "light" theme, it is #cc9933.  A lot of red, a fair amount of green, and a dash of blue.
  • When using a "dark" theme, it is #ff6600.  Max red, a bit under halfway to max of green, and no blue.
  • When using the contrast theme, it is actually #ff6400.
  • When using the reduced theme, it is actually "maroon" (which is #b03060).

Rinse and repeat for every colour for each type of theme (light, dark, contrast and reduced).
