Multiple Portraits for Characters

Many characters (superheroes and shape-shifters, most notably) have more than one appearance.  Instead of having to go to the Change Portrait page and pick out your portrait from the entire list, how about an option for characters to have multiple portraits from which to choose?

Re: Multiple Portraits for Characters

Most people I've seen who want multiple portraits  just make a note of the numbers in their scratchpad or character sheets when creating the character, so that they can find the same portraits easily later.

Which is doable, of course... but far less convenient.  Another option is to get the GM to set up multiple characters for you.  Then you can have a different name as well (especially good for Super Identities and Secret Identities).  I was just suggesting another option to make the process more convenient.

I've found that method is a bit of a bother when the GM doesn't set preferences to allow posts with a default character.

In an old game I used a link as above in the character sheet to Chang NPC portraits and a similar one for bio lines.

P.s this one won't work as I removed my game I'd from the URL.

Another possibility would be the option to simply input the tag for a picture at the character sheet instead of having to click through the portraits to find it.  (Well, in addition to that option, of course.)

So you are suggesting a box in the portrait screen where you can paste a certain value in it?  Then someone would merely need to copy and record that value in their character sheet, copy it and choose change portrait, paste the value, and choose select.

Another option... might be to have a 'recent' portraits option, to show the last so many portraits used, which would allow swapping them between a couple relatively simple process that wouldn't require a lot of searching, or cut and paste.  However, it would require extra storage in the character object. (or at least another table linking the character and the portraits.  [the recents option, is really similar to your original suggestion however]

Much like LoreGuard recommended, for my shapeshifter I just added a list of links like below to my character sheet and click on them to change my portrait.
<a href="http://rpol.net/usermodules/profile.cgi?action=ChangePortrait&gi=xxx&ci=yyy&portrait=ncl&id=122"><img src="http://rpol.creativelass.net/ncl122.jpg"></a>

You can go to change your portrait, right click and copy the link on a portrait go get the ChangePortriat link above and use copy image url to get the image link.  Gives you a nice list of images at the bottom of my character sheet that make it easy to choose what I'm shapeshifting into.

That works... a bit on the technical side, but only took a little bit of tinkering to get it working.  Thanks.
