It seems like the revolution of playing by post is taking the RPG world by storm. There are constant queries by curious onlookers as to how this particular system works, so this is what this article is for - to tell you how it works. It all starts out with a simple "Request To Join", or better known as RTJ. There is a variety as to how the RTJ works but primarily, an affirmation of the player's eligibility to play in a Mature game is the most important.

Secondary to that is a player's writing ability. As such, it is important to impress upon the GM, also known as Guildmaster, that players display good writing skills and an eagerness to roleplay. This can easily be illustrated by producing a single post in response to the mysterious letters they have received. The post should include character thoughts and feelings, what their secret is and their upcoming plans.

Detailed backgrounds and motivations are not needed because these are as much of a mystery to the player and to the GM. As such, the GM would like allow free reign and creativity (in race, class, background) to the players with regards to their responses. However, intervention might occur if the GM feels uncomfortable with certain ideas.

A key point for players to note is to be actors and not reactors of situations. As such, players should worry more about telling a story than about the system that governs it - consequently, this game will be running freeform style. Posting rates will vary to the tastes of players and on the GM's time but twice/thrice weekly is foreseen. As such, above all requirements - Patience and Responsibility, are the most important.

Aberhaven Charity Ball
News
The Aberhaven Charity Ball is here once again! This time Duke Dorian is even more generous than ever because anyone and everyone can come and enjoy the tasteful treats and marvelous performances at the Duke's Mansion. Be sure that entertainment, food and drinks will be served to one and all - no charge! But if you can afford it, fork out a few coins to help the poor and needy! After all, you are attending a charity event. But the real and big money will be from the pockets of our upper class. They will be gathering inside the Duke's Mansion where an auction of precious items and antiques is held! Note: Entry is by invitation only.

Highway Danger
News
Bandits along the Highway are on the rise! The Duke is sending patrols to monitor our roads to make it safe for one and all. Thankfully, bandits who have been seen to attack unsuspecting merchants and travelers by our patrols were stopped. These bandits are no rag tag bunch and seem fairly well organised. So keep your eyes peeled while on the roads and maybe hire a mercenary or two...

Sorceress to be Executed
News
The young sorceress who attacked innocent bystanders last week has been sentenced to execution in the coming fortnight. The female, only known by the alias, Red Fire, had summoned demonic sorcery to cause grievous and willful harm to our citizens. It is unclear what her motivations are but thank the Watcher our streets will no longer have to deal with such madness...

Robbery at Madden House
News
Robert Madden and his family were almost robbed of their precious jewels and coin two nights ago. The masked burglars gave the family a terrible scare but it seemed that the burglars did not intend to harm anyone or put up a fight once the City Guards appeared to apprehend then. It is uncertain if the burglars got away with anything and the Maddens are unavailable for comment.

One of the auction items is really the Shard of Iris - THE shard of power from the long forgotten Wizards of Iris.

Red Fire is not who she seems

Some say that the demonic sorceress Red Fire is really the Duke's long lost sister. Others say that Red Fire works for the deadly assassin's guild.

The Calling
Official
The call for brave and adventurous rp-ers have been fairly fruitful so far. As of now, Brax the rough, Emeric the strange, Yogorov the fallen and the only female the group, Lucinda the mysterious have answered the call. There have been expressions of interest by 2 other parties. As such, the beginning of the adventure will be slightly delayed till those entries are in, unless their interest has waned.

But as of now, feel free to peruse the Taproom. Due to the sensitive material contained within some RTJs, it is up to the player’s discretion to remove/change such materials before posting their RTJ’s up in the thread 1.The Letter

White Rose plays Justicar
News
The Honourable Mage Lord of the White Rose played the role of Justicar last week in apprehending the villain Lucinda Blancoeur. It is unclear what the young lass’s crime is but the city should thank the Mage Lord for turning in a fellow practitioner of wizardry, who could potentially be dangerous to the citizenry.

It is a known fact throughout the city that the wizards have always been a highly exclusive, defensive and protective lot. As such it is heartening to know that wizards too have some semblance of moral rightness and wrong.

The Watcher
Religion
The Watcher is the stoic Lawgiver and guardian of the realms. The god of War and fire, The Watcher is a mute god and speaks through his actions. He passes judgment with his sword and is said to be merciless when it comes to prosecuting those in the wrong. Legend has it that the Watcher roams the realms as a mortal in a myriad of disguises, serving justice where appropriate. Often, travelers and soldiers pray for courage, guidance and protection while sailors pray to the Watcher to grant them smooth passage through the seas. The Watcher is often shown standing tall holding a great sword with its tip lodge into the ground.

Cartography
Official
So far the adventure has yet to begin,  however, wonderous and amazing happenings are already underway due to the enthusiastic involvement of the adventurers. Much of the work that are in this game is yet to be finish, perhaps the next step is getting our bearings in the game. As such, a cartographer has been hired to map out the significant areas of the Realms.

All suggestions and comments are welcome and appreciated.

Vigilante Justice or another Gang Killing?
News
A few young ones have been found brutally murdered in the back streets of the Trader's District. Such affairs are common in the city, however, we would advice caution to those who travel alone. It would seem that the murdered ones were crooks themselves who pried on unsuspecting citizens who happened to chance upon them. Is there some hero who performs such vigilante justice? Or is it just another street gang killing? You decide.

Dharmalese
Lore
Spawned from tribes of nomads who united as one to forge a kingdom of their own, the Dharmalese have prospered since the days of their nomadic life. Living high up in the mountain ranges of Dharma, the Dharmalese are a peaceful people who are excellent traders and mountain rangers. Still very much an agricultural kingdom, the Dharmalese cattle are a hardy lot and is an importance feature in Dharmalese lifestyle as their chief export is Dharmalese wool, leather and agricultural produce. As such, the Dharmalese Mountain Sheep holds a significant status among the Dharmalese.

Savann
Lore
In a land where honour and warfare are primary staples of a kingdom, it vast open plains are dotted with fortresses and castles of varying allegiances with houses and minor houses constantly vying for control within the kingdom. The Leonyr that hail from Savann are battle born and cultured at the same time, priding themselves to be scholar knights leading to large numbers of Leonyr finding employment in other Kingdoms as guards, weaponmasters, fighters and trainers. Not surprisingly the production of war materials is their chief export while many aspiring warriors from other kingdoms flock to Savann to learn the art of war.

Savann, the only neutral city in the middle of the Kingdom and the Kingdom's namesake, is ruled by a party of leaders of different houses, where an annual Council is held. Voting is the Leonyr's chief form of politics, and if that fails - decision through battle.

Small Matters
Official
Everything has been going smoothly so far in the city of Aberhaven. The game has taken a step forward, although much of the mystery remains to be seen. On a secondary note, more maps have been thought of and will be laid out soon enough, however if anyone has recommendations for a map generator or a dungeon generator that allows for customization, please do recommend. It will surely help in the gameplay to come.

Aberhaven
Lore
Ruled locally by the duke and duchess: Dorian and Alicia Aberhaven, the duke and his family are equivalent of a royal family. Founded by Richard Aberhaven, the city-state has been the hub of commerce for decades. Situated strategically along the river route, it is both a port of call, and a stopover trade route for merchants in the region. As a result of Aberhaven's economic importance, the city has seen it's fair share of border disputes and military clashes with surrounding kingdoms and cities trying to absorb Aberhaven into it's own fold.

Aberhaven Massacre
News

The Duke's Charity Ball has unleashed a world of mayhem! Thousands were slaughtered in one night and now Aberhaven lies in the brink of ruin. Reports of attackers clad in Red, dubbed the Red Nightmare, were seen on site and terrorizing the city streets. The creatures of the Abyss, summoned by the criminal witch Lucinda Blancouer, was defeated but after much casualties.

More breaking news, the Duke and his family are missing! We can only hope that they will be found, well and alive, soon. We thank the efforts of the valiant knights and soldiers who have sacrificed their own lives to protect us. May The Watcher watch over us...

Trial of a Traitor
News

Since the disappearance of The Mage Lord of the White Rose, the mage world has been in Chaos. Without a firm hand to lead the mages, it is without a doubt that we are all in danger. Imagine a world rampant with crazed wizards unleashing their awesome but terrible power on us? Imagine the destruction they possess!

Granted not all magical wielders are fiends, but in light of current events, there is much work and consideration to be done with regards to these wizards. For now, the Hall of Scales have apprehended Caalum Oldwizard, uncle of the wanted criminal, Lucinda Blancoeur, for crimes against the city.

Mage Hunt!
News

By order of the law, all wizards, whether practicing or not, are subjected to an inquiry. This is to root out those who are deemed as a danger to our populace. Those found uncooperative will be dealt with severely.

Korskoya
Lore

A cold and unyielding country in the north, Korskoya is a mountainous region with heavy forests on it's flatlands and the frigid Korva Sea bordering it's eastern edge. It is generally known that the land is a dark one where shadows of the forests are long and its mountain peaks, high.

Korskoyans are a proud and fierce race, though they are generally peaceful in nature. They tend to be insular and like to keep their relations with other kingdoms at a minimum. Even trade with them is highly exclusive.

Korskoyans are generally competent drinkers and their most famous brew, the Korskhan Whiskey, is known for it's potency and fiery taste. In the land, class differentiation is quite apparent with the upper nobility concentrating more on intellectual pursuits such as fencing, philosophy, poetry and music. While the middle and lower classes tend lean towards more hardy pursuits such as sailing, hunting, carpentry and agriculture.
