Anyone? Would love to play solo, sidekick, or within a team of 2-6.

Which edition interests everyone? Second of course is easiest for folk to get their hands on, but there are aspects to first that I personally like better. Thoughts? Opinions?

I've only played 1ed for 5e; but I'm system agnostic.

2nd edition would be my preference as I already have the existing books and wouldn't have to acquire them.

I have all three editions, 1e, 2e, and 5e. I'm least familiar with 2e, but from what I've seen it's close enough to 1e for me to pick up and go.

I'm thinking Co-op/Strider Mode/LM-less... but if that doesn't work well on PbP, then we can go the regular route.

I know what Strider Mode is and how it works, but not Co-op or LM-less. Care to outline how you see those working?

Basically we'd all be players without a Lore Master and use oracles tables to guide the story as we ask questions. I just haven't seen this style of play work yet in a PbP game, so I don't know if it would work as well as it might at the gaming table. I think the Strider Mode rules could be easily adapted to this co-op style of play.

So I would see this as a sort of round robin style where we'd take turns asking questions to lead the story and play kind of fluid with the character spotlight as to what makes sense in the story.

I think it's worth a try, right?

I've been wanting to run the new Tales from the lone-lands for TOR 2e, is that something you might be interested in, as a more conventional game? Or did you all have your eyes set on Strider Mode already?

Well if all four of you in this thread are interested I can set the game up? I'd like to start off with sort of a "session zero", setting some base rules and form a fellowship where everyone know each other from the start.

The thing I would carry over from Strider Mode is the character creation modifications: the greater starting experience (15 vs. 10) and the decreased TN base (18 vs. 20). Starting characters in 1e had enough trouble when the default TN was 14, and character advancement can be glacial in play-by-post.
