Make me bleed my own blood!
Right. Now that the title's got you here, I've got a few games that need playtesting and a very strong desire to not run games on this site. Maybe they're good, maybe they're bad, I don't know. I suppose in a way, if they're judged poorly enough that could be me bleeding my own blood.

One of my systems (a Criminal Sandbox) currently has an active game, so while setting up another game for it isn't super urgent, I would want to set the second game in an era other than prohibition/dust bowl.

A second system is for playing the girls trying to get senpai in visual novels. I've only played it in one setting, so I'm up for whatever someone else comes up with.

A third system for horror RPs designed with the intent of avoiding the Cthuloid SHMUPS that other horror games tend to sort of devolve into. It's primarily for slashers, because my interest in other kinds of horror is not nearly as strong, and any threat of kaiju scale or greater bores me to tears. Suspense is tolerable, but campy is ideal.

I can't really name any of these systems because they could be used to identify games I'm running or have run, and that's part of the reason I don't want to run any games on this site any more. The are all available for download on my discord, which of course, I also don't think I can link here, but will make available upon request.

As for rating, I can tolerate Mature, but I really don't like censorship, so adult is preferred.

Hello Steelsmiter, I am not familiar with that term, Cthuloid SHMUPS. What does that mean? Beyond that, I am interested in learning a little more about your Senpai and Slasher games.

Cthuloid refers to the inclusion of the Cthulhu mythos in a game, and SHMUP is slang for shoot 'em up.

Awesome! What I can tell you here, is that my intent with the slasher game is for it to run a bit more like Until Dawn than Left 4 Dead, (or genrewise, huge threats in both scale and population are annoying(kaiju, ZA), individual or small groups of threats like campy slasher films are the bread and butter of the system).

The intent for my Senpai game is to shoot for a range of gaming capabilities that is primarily somewhere around running highly social games centered around schools (college), bakeries and the like, on up to being capable of running games like Lightning Warrior Raidy, Deus Machina Demonbane, Pretty Soldier Wars 2048, and so forth. Like I wanted to be able to play a range Visual Novel to JRPG type games (but not necessarily delve into the whole 99 levels throwing Ultimas around trope).

I don't know if I've cleared things up for you, but there it is.

I'm a bit confused. Are you looking for people to run games you have created yourself for you here without wanting to give any info on the system used itself? I might be a bit too tired atm, but that's what I take away from your post.

I can't give information out publically due to certain rule issues RPoL has. I can speak in generalities publically, or give out specific information privately.

EDIT--More specificity needed: I can't risk mentioning my systems by name since searching the terms can point to games I'm playtesting, or have playtested in the past.

Edit 2: Yes though, I did create some games, I want someone to run me in here because I don't want to run games here.

Hey, curious interest, not yet fully developed...what pace and robustness of testing are you wanting?

  1. As in stress testing; i.e. noting weaknesses and strengths and then letting you be your own judge?
  2. Immersion testing i.e. "does this system feel intuitive? Can I represent conflict and uncertainty of success without too much hassle? Is there growth for character, represented by the rules in place?"
  3.   or both?

Also, what posting pace is preferrable? what is tolerable? What is unacceptable? What about breaks for GM recharge and RL crap?

Finally, how many players would be in it besides you? Or just you?

The only deal breaker is posting rate, for you in fact, not for me. If you can handle sporadic updates with some flurries during the calendar year, it would be nice to try something new, that would be new for anyone, and the creator (you) can always clue me in on nuance.

Pace? can't promise more than about twice a week posting speed. and if I have to read more than about 25 posts in order to respond I'm out. Fewer if they're all longer posts.

I dunno. The "immersion testing" you mentioned looks a bit like stress testing as well. I don't know how to address anything else you said in that comment, but my games are usually to emulate some aspect of gaming in another medium I don't usually see in table top so I suppose:

Does this feel like (the other side of) a VN, does that feel like GTA or Saints Row, does the other feel like I'm trying to figure out how to evade or kill Jason, or similar slasher villains?

I answered the pacing question upthread because you mentioned it before now... Other than what I said upthread is... Well, I've had some playtesting before where some aspect of play is simply not happening. Can't go too deeply into details but suffice to say that the specific features have been asked about both privately and in the OOC threads, and it seems like (I if not others are) talking to a wall.

Finally, how many players would be in it besides you? Or just you?

Depends. It's possible to play the visual novel one and the criminal sandbox one as single player on the assumption that the NPCs the GM makes are Kohai and Contacts respectively. For the horror one, it practically needs a group.

Depends. My health prevents me from making promises about my activity, but not necessarily from facilitating it. Sometimes that's going to happen too.

I would prefer to ask about the nuance myself, and there will be times where I wrote a thing to work out a certain way but accept when you play it a different way just so see if it plays out better and whether that means I should change something. This came up with a previous playtest where I wanted to point out several times when players would ask questions and I had a "by the book answer" but also wanted to see what GMs had to say on it. I get kind of paranoid that bringing that out in the open in OOC may alienate things or at least slow them down though.

Re: Make me bleed my own blood!
So I'm checking in to see if that goes anywhere toward clarifying what I hope to get out of the game(s), or if anyone wants to bite.
