Hey all, I'm almost totally inexperienced with D&D games. I've watched two sessions of a buddy's campaign and that's about it. But I'm very interested and willing to learn. Ultimately, I'm looking for a game to learn. I don't know much about character creation, but I am a quick study. I'd appreciate anyone willing to take me under their wing. Thanks!

I'll teach you, the question is though, do you want to learn roleplaying, or miniture tactics combat? RPG systems can often be used for either, or even both (the usual case to some degree for most modern players). Roleplaying itself however is not dependent on system at all and is something else for which the system is just a handy tool and not required.

Are you looking for D&D specifically, or are you looking for any game to play? If it's the latter, what kinds of genres, characters, or stories do you like? I don't think I can put together a big campaign, but I could maybe run you through something smaller and more manageable.
