I've had this idea of a Cosmo knight ripped from Pre-Rifts Earth History and forced to wear the mantle of hero in a world gone blindly mad.  He's seeing Humans in scary skeletal armor murder monstrous looking children and seeing demons and vile sorcerers murder human women and children.
The thing is, because the last Cosmoknight who was in Rifts Earth was destroyed trying to leave the planet, He's not even really sure what the hell he is or what he's supposed to do.  He just can't stand by and let bad people do bad things to perfectly innocent people, whether they are human or almost frighteningly terrifying aliens from another world.

I'm confused Cosmo-Knights were not in pre-Rifts Earth
unless there is a book with a storyline I missed
which is very possible they put out quite a few books

Yeah, they are from another dimension, the Anvil Galaxy one if I'm not mistaken.

Actually there is a case of one in the past, he/she disappeared attempting to leave orbit(Though I'll have to delve heavily in the library to remember where the notation was). Also, it points to the Whalesingers Prophecy that a Cosmoknight will be instrumental in the defeat of the Lord of the Depths.

Also, I didn't mean he was a cosmoknight in Pre-Rifts Earth, he was just some guy.  The Cosmic Forge endows him as he's flung bodily through a Rift.
