I'm feeling inspired in a romantic way lately, due mostly to hearing some awesome Retro Wave music.

That made me think of all the cool possibilities for a romance-oriented role play game.

Think about Dragonlance, Sturm Brightblade and Alhana Starbreeze. hell, i longed for these two to be together while i read the first 3 books. what fool i was. but that kind of romance is epic and does feel genuine. that is the kind of game I'm looking.

Anyway, the setting doesn't need to be set in the Dragonlance world. I'm actually more interested in the role-playing aspects of such a game than the setting.

It does need to be run in a system i know and own though. that could be Pathfinder, Palladium, AD&D 2nd, D&D 3.5 and Champions.

This could be, for example, a Fantasy or Super-hero game, with focus on the romance between the players and/or NPCs. what exactly is in the hands of the GM.

While this may sound silly, but i don't think this would work with an all-male player group. even if they play female characters, this would still be weird IMHO (no offense intended). so female players would be a requirement.

Hiya. Would you be willing to consider a freeform game? I run two that both have romance options (set in an adult environment) and we have several female players as well as me, the GM, being female. :)

One is fantasy set in a nebulous medieval period (think vamps, werewolves & mages).

The other is pirates set during The Golden Age of Piracy and includes mermaids, selkies and more.

Your post was almost exactly what I'm looking for with the exception that it is freeform.

I don't like it's ''on the fly'' feel. it never appealed to me and i like some well-established rules when we need them.

Also, I'm looking forward to joining a fresh game. it always feels out place when i join an existing game.

Would you consider running the game with an actual system?
