Campaign Trait: Stolen Fury

Stolen Fury: You were forced to take part in a demonic ritual as a youth after having been captured by cultists. Whatever the ritual’s purpose may have been, it didn’t work out the way your captors envisioned—rather than corrupting your soul you absorbed the ritual’s energy and made it your own before you escaped to safety. Ever since, you’ve been haunted by strange nightmares about the ritual, and have long felt that the energies it bathed you in have changed you. Recently, those energies have changed—it’s as if you’ve finally managed to come to terms with your past and have turned the ritual’s aftereffects to your advantage, following the old adage of what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. You’ve been unable to learn more about the ritual or what it was for, but the question lingers in the back of your head to this day.

This nagging has instilled in you a fury against demonkind. Today, when you face demons in combat, those energies bolster your fury, granting you a +2 trait bonus on all combat maneuver checks against demons. Associated Mythic Path: Champion. Multiple Characters: You and any other PC who takes this trait were all part of the same ritual, and it was only by working together that you managed to escape—further, the support of your fellow ritual survivors has played a key role in your coming to terms with it, and you retain a close bond of friendship (or perhaps a friendly rivalry) to this day.

Moergan was the only surviving son of a fish monger at the docks.  He had known hard times and poverty all throughout his life.  Despite this he had a happy childhood and was part of a family who loved him deeply.

When he was fifteen his father sold a barrel of fish to a crew of questionable men aboard a ship.  Moergan was let go early that day so that he could help his mother prepare dinner.  As the evening hours approached this father did not return.

Witness at the docks reported that the men refused to pay for the fish and impressed his father into service.  From that day moving forward Moergan took over the family business.

For the past several years he put aside every extra coin earned in his mission to find those men and return his father home.

The first plan in his mission was to develop contacts.  He knew from his new role as a fish monger that his contacts on the docks and the the food and service industry would be maintained.  But he was only one boy and the city was a large and dangerous place.

He studied the religions and faiths of the community and found that the shrines and priests of Gozreh most closely fit his personal beliefs and provided a network of contacts which would normally have been closed to him.  He joined the church a few weeks later and soon found he had made the right decision.

It appeared that the goddess also approved of him for one night he had a dream in which the goddess spoke to him of an many great and powerful events to come in the near future.  She instructed him that she would be watching and granted him a powerful boon to aid the community in times of great need (Trait:  Sacred Touch).

He awoke and knew this was a sign. Moergan began training his martial skills that day.  He focused on speed and power.  Evil was a powerful foe and sometimes one needed to be able to strike first.  He informed the local priests of what he had encountered and asked that they bless his weapons and armor and provide surety for his soul.

His father was not forgotten but the troubles that affected Moergan and the community had grown.
