Can someone help Gimble? (5e DND)

So, I've had a couple of attempts at getting this little guy going somewhere, and so far he's been unsuccessful, which hurts, because ever since I came up with the concept I've been so ridiculously keen to play him.

Gimble's a forest gnome, who was torn from his home and taken into slavery as a child. He grew up in a cold house as an abused servant by his master, and a loved friend by his master's daughter, up until the night she helped him to escape.

Now he's wandering aimlessly, hoping to find some purpose to his life...

Can anyone help Gimble?

I'm looking for a game that's preferably set in the Forgotten Realms, and something that is character-driven and involves a good balance of role and roll play. I can post 3-5 times a week.

If anyone's got something that might work, I'd love to hear from you. :)

It's so tempting to say yes, but I already took as many players as I said I would take.

Just for other's sake: what class were you thinking? Anything that's from some source other than the basic player handbook? That can be a deal breaker for some DMs or wouldn't fit in some groups.

Don't know if it's related, but Gimble's the name of the Iconic gnome bard in one of the editions. I don't remember which.

Correct. Gimble was the gnome hard in 3.5 - although I actually had forgotten that until you mentioned it.

This one isn't a hard. I've gone with rogue, urchin background - nothing outside the standard phb rules.
