Overwatch

There is a fairly cool unexplored story within the Overwatch game. A tale of killer robots run amok. I think it would be a cool game to have a group of players each take one of the Overwatch characters, build it, then play in exploration of the story.

Mutants and Masterminds might be a good system. Might work in Apocalypse Hack, though that would require customer work. GURPS could probably handle it, though it's a bit realistic for the game feel.

Anyone interested in taking that on?

Overwatch

I might play it in most supers games. I've statted up a few Overwatch heroes in M&M 3E, which you can find here (I started with Mercy, my favorite tied with Widowmaker). Seems like a lot of fun, and certainly has a lot of potential as a supers setting not tied to decades of retcons and canon.

I could see this being done with a system like conspiracy X where players either have to build towards the power they have in the game and certain powers are explained with paranormal abilities. Reaper having self only bio-pk.

I thought I'd bump this and give it one more attempt...

Overwatch

I have been playing a lot lately (trying to get the summer event skins) and I would enjoy playing Overwatch as a roleplaying game, too. Probably with Supers RED or M&M 3E (with a few tweaks), but it's hard to say. Anyway, I'll make you a bet: if we can't find a GM and I get the skins for Widowmaker and Mercy (and Sombra), I'll run a hell of an Overwatch game.

Overwatch

Works for me.

May take the fun out of it, but someone did MnM3E stats...

d20 Modern would probably work as well. Or GURPS.

Overwatch

It's a really interesting setting and there's definitely some room for roleplaying there.

I'd argue that M&M might not be the best fit if you want the sort of team-based tactical gameplay.  But it might be a good fit for the over-the-top genuinely comic-book personas that the gameplay represents.

If you're using 2e, I might recommend some of the mechanics that scale back the Time/Progression table.  Not sure if any similar mechanics exist in 3e.  The impact of major characters tends not to do things like level city blocks, and the super speedy characters tend to do less running around the world and more zipping around rooftops.

I also statted up some Overwatch characters on that site. M&M 3E would work fairly well, though I might also look into Supers Revised. Not sure about other superhero games. I may have to look into that.

So what kinds of things are you looking for in a potential Overwatch game, if we find a GM?

Overwatch

I'd be willing to play. As a GM or a player. I'm familiar with the lore and willing to GM but I'm unfamiliar with pretty much anything outside of PBTA. I'm willing to learn any system if you're willing to bare with my inexperience at the start.

I think just exploring the world a bit more. It seems rich with potential. Seems like a mission based special forces style game play would work nicely.
