Anima: Beyond Fantasy

Ok so I have had this sitting around for a bit and want to get into playing it with an eye towards one day possibly running it. First I would rather understand the system. Taken at once it is a bit much. While not a noob in any sense of the word this system is complex which is something I have been looking for to be honest. I have a character or two I want to convert so that helps.

If I can find my copy of the book I'd love to join as a player.

Edit: found my book!

Wow, I haven't heard of that game in a while... I found the core book, but I think the other books are in my busted laptop.

Yeah there are four or so. I have three of them. Still trying to find an English version of the fourth.

My bad six that I have found so far. Checking the three new ones to see if they are English language or not.

There are actually 7 other books, not including either version of the Core rulebook. However the latest book, Gaia Vol.2, has not yet had an English release. Also worth noting is that the English translation of the second last book to be released, Prometheum Exxet, is so horribly bad that it barely counts as a proper English release.

Final thing, but the new Official Forum is a great place to check out for all your Anima related needs:

I might consider running a starter game for everyone here. I'm in enough stable games now that I could probably afford to do so...

Eh, heck with it, I'm gonna. I might regret it, but I'm gonna do it and if it burns to the ground then so be it. Expect a link here soon.

Just looking over the book I have again, in prep trying to figure out a character, is there no point buy system for initial stats?

In reply to Knight_Vassal (msg # 12):

Hopefully we can use the point buy, Dice have a tendency to hate me, so I rarely play system games this just looked to interesting a world to pass up.  But I hate leaving my Character creation to random chance.

There's actually a point-buy system within the original character creation. Method four uses a point-buy (albeit a semi-random one), while the table in the GM section is specifically for magical creatures, so no need to worry about it. ;) Method 5, from the GM's Toolkit, is a true point-buy, but that's neither here nor there. Also, just to be clear, stats are nice in Anima, but they're certainly not the be-all, end-all.

Anyways, I love all ya'll, but here's the link: link to another game
