Legacy: Life Among the Ruins

This game has filled me with ideas and I've been for a long time working out how to use it to run a fantasy setting wherein the player characters are the leadership of Dungeon populations, antediluvian societies cursed and twisted and buried for literal epochs.

But before I dive into that attempt at GMing a specialized use of the system, I'd really like to try my hand as a player. Ideally in a game using both Echoes of the Fall and the recently released Mirrors in the Ruins. Is there enough interest in this to get a game together?

I would be interested in playing. I have the game (a birthday present last year) and I really like it, and I've yet to play Apocalypse World. I'd actually prefer it if Legacy had a 2E update, but until then, it seems very fun to play.

I'm glad there's at least some player interest besides myself. As for an update, the additional content in the two expansions does a lot to add some depth to the mechanics. Using tech on for a unique effect instead of to add to a stat gets a rework that makes it feel more narratively significant, there's a new family stat called "Sleight" that's used for engaging in conspiracies and concealing your actions from others, and a factions system that makes it easy to include NPC groups with the same weight and role as PC families, not to mention a host of new character and family archetypes that all bring new perspectives and approaches to the game's concept.

Legacy: Life Among the Ruins

I know this is a few days old but I myself just picked up the games in a print/pdf bundle to treat myself, having played a number of the PbtA games and wanted to look into this little number of a post-apoc game. And I really love it! I have the core book as well as Echoes and Mirrors so everything is viable for me.

If we could get a big enough group (I think at least four players/families would work) I wouldn't mind running it at all!

Legacy is not an Apocalypse World supplement, it's a completely separate game with an entirely different flavor.

Re: Legacy: Life Among the Ruins

I downloaded the free playbooks and cheatsheets from DriveThru. Looks like a blast! If a game happens, I'll get the rules, of course.

Oh for sure, the rules are very simple to get your mind into once you go over it a few times. And the nice part about the setting is that you all get to build it yourselves!

As for everyone else, I'll get things rolling on my end. I have the game created, and the RTJ will actually be penning what you want to see in the setting, or Homeland as it is known in the game. I'll post what everyone has as their inspirations and we'll settle down on a finished product to play in.

Then we can choose Families and Characters. But that comes after we know about the world! Everything from the core game, Echoes, and Mirrors is totally in play, so we can get everything you'd like to see!
