Mass Effect game?

Alright, so, i've seen that it's possible to run a Mass Effect game with a system, and i'd like to get into a game. The one i'm in, which has fallen to inactivity right now, used Apocalypse Worlds; and since i'm somewhat experienced, even if minimally in that, i'd prefer to use that system. However, it's not necessarily required. Any system works. Adult rating is preferred but not required.

So, any GMs out there wanting to run this or are running something like this? Or maybe players who are also interested?

I have the Fate Mass Effect books (which Bioware forced to be taken off the net because of how prevalent promo images and so on were used). We can figure out a way to get those goodies to you, if interested. Or we can freeform it.

Anything works; whatever the DM wants to use, I'll use. As for ways to get it to me, if you have it, you can try rMailing me screenshots if it's not too unbearable; that or try and find a way to send me a PDF.  Free form also works; I'm someone who likes to roleplay. Story comes priority over game mechanics in my preference. Also, "gladitorial" games or games that are nothing but "fight! Fight! Fight more!" Aren't my cup of tea

I would also be very interested in playing a Mass Effect game, depending on when it's set and how you view canon. (For my own games, I assume a changed ending from ME3 and go from there.)

Bump.

We need a GM still but I'm glad to see player interest exists

Mass Effect game?

I've seen a few ME games flop at character creation here and they all tried to use the ME Fate rule set.  I think part of the issue is that the Fate system really works better in a table-top environment and not so much in a PBP environment.  From what I have seen, in a PBP environment Fate character creation requires too much player interaction.  Perhaps it is better to say it is too dependent on player interaction.  Something that works a lot better when everyone is face to face.  Because in PBP if one person drops the ball during the character creation phase, in Fate it has a domino effect of halting the character creation process because Fate character creation is in and of itself a group project.

Now I would love an ME game without the questionable ME3 ending as part of the storyline.  But I think at this point, with even as well assembled as the Fate book is, it would have to be a different system that doesn't use co-op character creation.

Thankfully there are a lot of good systems out there that work well with a sci-fi setting.  Of the systems I am familiar with I would probably myself use the Firefly/Cortex system because of how simple and mutable it is.  Or maybe the Uni-System.

Good points. I can think of a few systems for it, too. The question is: are you interested in running one or playing one?

As I said above a game I played that's fallen to inactivity (seems to slowly be reviving but I can't be sure) used Apocalypse Worlds, a "hack" of it, but I think it was something that GM personally made, so no access to that. I just thought AW might be worth suggesting if someone here has something in mind.

I can't guarantee that I'll be any better than the game that you left, but if we can put three players together cohesively, I'll do my best...

No worries. Let's see if any of the posters that posted here in the past are still interested.
