Re: Anyone willing to run some Freedom City?

Hi there!

I'm new to RPOL, but I've been GMing and playing M&M for years.  I'm fairly well versed in both 2nd and 3rd editions, though I'm not as familiar with Freedom City.  Usually, when I've run games, I've created my own cities.

I've been tinkering with the interface here to learn my way around RPOL with the intention of starting up a game I had been running on another site.  It's probably going to take me a few days to get myself up to speed on the ins and outs of running games here.

But I might be interested in putting something together for M&M2 and Freedom City.

Re: Anyone willing to run some Freedom City?

well if you do, I'd dearly love to play
I want to get enough experience with the system so I might be able to run someday
so far I have only gotten to create characters and on a few cases play a bit but not much so I am not learning enough
if it gets going let me know ok? maybe when I know the system better I will be able to run to, same situation I find myself in for shadowrun

Re: Anyone willing to run some Freedom City?

I'm starting to start to pull details together for a Freedom City game.  Before I commit to anything specific, I want to do another pulse check on what those interested would like to see more.

From previous posts, it sounds like New Heroes in Town and Freedom Knights were the most popular options.  Of those two choices, is anyone leaning strongly toward one over the other?

I'm more for Freedom Knights, but could go either way.

The two or three concepts I have all fit either of those options equally well

Well looks like we've got a willing GM, and a few willing players!

Is everything in order?

Still working through details for the game. Planning on New Heroes in Town starting at PL10. If you have character ideas, feel free to run them by me.

Re: Anyone willing to run some Freedom City?

Would you allow Nemesis or Mimic powers?

Re: Anyone willing to run some Freedom City?

Variable powers like those or summons can always be tricky if there are no limitations, but I would be willing to allow the powers, especially if they go with a really good concept.

Re: Anyone willing to run some Freedom City?

Quick update: I'm on a business trip this week so look for a game notice this coming weekend or early next week.  Didn't want to start and then vanish for a week.

Re: Anyone willing to run some Freedom City?

Okay so haven't heard from the person who said they'd run something . . .

So we're back on the search! Is there anyone willing to run Freedom City?

Reposting possible requested games (running a Nevermore game myself now):

NEW HEROES IN TOWN
It’s quite possible to set up a new group of heroes in Freedom City, filling the role of “hometown heroes.” After all, the Freedom League is a worldspanning alliance with a much wider focus. The Atom Family is made up of explorers, often off in some other dimension, on the Moon, or the like, and the Claremont Academy students are just heroes-in-training. So there are opportunities for a new hero team to set up shop in Freedom.

FREEDOM KNIGHTS
Rather than the four-color heroics of the Freedom League, this framework sets the heroes up as street-level crime-fighters in Southside, Lincoln, Greenbank, or the other most crime-ridden areas of Freedom City. They can fight alongside heroes like Foreshadow and the Raven and they might go up against—or team up with—vigilantes like the Silencer.

PROJECT FREEDOM
Harriet Wainwright’s program to rehabilitate super-criminals (see page 74) can form the basis for an adventure or even an entire campaign, with the players running super-convicts offered a chance to work off their sentences doing public service.
