Looking for an intrigue free form fantasy setting
So, being a fan of Sherlock Holmes, Professor Layton, and other more "investigative" things like that which forces players to use their minds, I've been wanting to get into a roleplay; preferably a free form because I lack the desire to have dice and stats in d&d holding me back (for this one), which encourages one to use their mind to solve a case or puzzle. Sure, while fights and stuff might be fun, I'm not looking for your usual "stop the evil lich" stuff.
What I wanted to do is something that, while calmer, has the same amount of intensity. As an example, perhaps You and a group of investigators/etc are trying to solve a case of kidnappings and murders, only to find a cult trying to summon a powerful demon; so you guys gotta stop it, but you can't go in guns blazing because you're not super powerful warriors, and so on.
Stuff like that.
Itd also give me the chance to blow the dust off one of my oldest characters; an Aarakokra who worked as sort of a private investigator. What's better than a bird Sherlock holmes?
If any GMs got something for me, or if anyone can help me out, let me know
And before I forget, adult rating preffered.
