Mage: the Awakening 2e? Group or Solo.

I'm a long-time 1e Mage Storyteller and player who would love to get in some more time as a player in 2e, both to get some practice with the system before I ST it and because I'm tired of being a Forever-ST IRL...

I have several character concepts that I've been wanting to play already in mind, and would be fine playing with a group or in a solo one-on-one game. I would prefer an Adult-rated game, since I've found good Chronicles of Darkness games tend to trend toward adult themes. I'm very knowledgeable of the setting (I have every 1e book!) and have studied the new mechanics fairly in-depth, so I'm happy to help any prospective ST with setting something up.

And like the remorseless advertisement leech that I am, popping in to say that if someone's looking for interest for a group game of mage, here too lies my desire.

To attempt at least to contribute, Trilogy: what parts of the game are you particularly hoping to explore, what kinds of ideas have sparked your imagination?

I would like to add my voice to this request. Granted we only have access to the advance copy but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. :)

Sleeping Darkness: You mean, besides just wanting to be a PC for once? :)

More seriously, I'd love either a very character-driven modern chronicle focusing on a group of new Mages forming a cabal around studying some particular local Mystery (one of the ones in the 2e core, even, or something similar) OR a To The Strongest or Sundered World game using Dark Eras.

Not so interested in Dark Eras, but definitely could play some MtAw2e.

On the other hand, I am incredibly down for some Dark Eras Awakening.

I'd like to throw in an interested hat into Mage: Awakening 2e Dark Eras or otherwise.

I'd also love to play in a 2e game! I've been pretty excited since the book dropped!

Hello, I think what I have might be something that interests you.

I'm in the process of re-thinking my NWOD game that's been running on/off in some variation for many years. Recently an important player to the plot left and it's been in limbo so I'm looking for some theme/idea to get it running again because I really love my setting.

Obviously the game is adult.

The basic idea is that it's after the death of King Arthur set in the pseudo-historical/fantasy Albion (England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, etc). There are multiple factions of mages as well as other supernatural entities. I blend norse, greek and celtic myths into the setting, and one of the main points of the setting is that the 'gods' of the ancient world were/are human mages of great power, but recently many of them have disappeared/died under mysterious circumstances. With the chaos of barbarian invasions and the fall of a central government, warlords and petty kings sprout up everywhere. There are also Christian elements, which is only natural since awakening has a lot of elements of gnostism in it. Note that the cultures of Albion stretch a little bit what was actually in britain during that era, but that creates more diversity and interesting dynamics.

Be warned that I am not perfect in my knowledge of nwod rules and I've made some house rules to it, the main point of the game would be to roleplay/have fun and not create a badass supersoldier.

I can do solo but if I do a group I would only have a few number of players to keep things fast paced. As I mentioned early on, I'd be interested in knowing what sort of theme/concept I could use to run the game.

I think NWOD is really different from OWOD tho rule wise is it not?

Yes, and Chronicles of Darkness (the system for Mage: the Awakening 2E) is different from New World of Darkness (Mage: the Awakening 1E).

Ok, I got some more information. I was unaware that the new printings were new editions and had different rules. Apologies for my confusion.

To clarify, I'm offering a setting with 1E NWOD rules, not 2E. If you want I can delete my original post.

I'm really only looking for 2e mechanics and the normal MtAw/CofD setting, sorry.

I'm currently advertising for a modern Mage Awakening 2e game, although I'm only accepting a few players at first to get it off the ground. I'm accepting applications for those spots until Thursday (basically when I get home from work) if you want to check it out.
