Looking for a D&D game that's willing to help a newbie out.

Hey, i'm RedTeamPyro, or Ulysses to some. I'm looking for a GM who's holding a D&D campaign that wouldn't mind taking on a newer player. I have played small bits of D&D, so i know how the system with the Dm, party, etc and some of the basic stuff works. I struggle mostly when it comes to stats and the whole numbers deal, and even if i have played D&D before i didn't get past level 5 really.

If there's anyone out there, let me know.

In reply to RedTeamPyro (msg # 1):

What edition are you interested in?

Depending on edition, I could possibly put something together. Wouldn't be entire for newbies or anything; but I am willing to make it newbie-friendly game, with an expectation that any experienced players are also willing to help out.

I won't run 4th; and editions earlier than third might take me more patience to help than I have... (I love those editions, but they're not really newbie-friendly I don't find.)

Any edition works, although i don't actually know the difference between them. Any edition works, still.

Also, i should of mentioned that i DO have years of roleplay experience, so roleplay shouldn't be an issue. It's just the game mechanics that i may flounder on.

Well I'm willing to be part of any game willvr is running, and I've plenty of 5th and 3.5 ideas for characters.

Again, character creation and roleplay shouldn't be an issue till the numbers are involved. I know how the roll system works (Mostly), so hopefully actually learning the numbers and more advanced stuff should be easy

Re: Looking for a D&D game that's willing to help a newbie out.

Which is exactly why I'm not going to be designing a game -purely- for the newbie. I think when it comes to mechanics, which is where you say you'll need help, other more experienced players can help as much as the GM.

I'm just going to have a rule that players need to be willing to help out as well. This shouldn't even need to be a rule, but it will be.

It'll be 5E; done sometime this weekend. I was going to be running a 5E game anyway.

Yea, i'm not asking for a game revolving around my education; just a game that'll be getting started in where the environment is a helpful one that has the patience for someone asking a few questions.

Pathfinder is probably as simple as any DnD unless you go waaaaay back to about 2nd edition.
