Exalted 3e
Since it's that time to bump, I thought I'd throw in a few character ideas I've had for games that didn't get accepted but I'd still love to play:
North
Northern Wolf was born and raised a tribal warrior. Brute force was the greatest test of might in the furthest reaches of the Direction of Air. And yet, when he fought against an Immaculate Monk in hopes of raiding the caravan he rode with, all the world seemed to open before him. Bested and beaten, the monk chose only to offer enlightenment. Months of training later and the wildman seemed dedicated to the worship of the dragons, until the day that the sun shone down on him. Enlightenment beyond elemental exaltation: The blessings of Solar divinity anointed his brow. He chose to leave the Immaculate Monastery he studied at, asking for time to find himself without ever letting them know, while trying to reconcile a lifetime of new beliefs. (This idea also works in the East)
Caste: Dawn or Zenith
Supernal: Martial Arts or Presence [Maybe integrity but that would require Fair Folk to be a very major antagonist given what the abilities revolve around]
Would really enjoy a re-skinned Snake style (doing what it does normally, slowing opponents and relying on being faster) as an elemental martial art revolving around ice
East
Mikan never knew his father and his mother had always wanted a daughter to continue her trade of creating beautiful woven fabrics, but it was simply not to be. Instead her son weaved on her loom as she did, created elegant arrangements of flowers like she did, and wrote poems that could capture the heart like she did; he was bright, creative, and loving. But he always lacked whatever his mother had to make things special. On a day that their gifts were left at the town's ancestor shrine, a local spirit who enjoyed the gifts captured Mikan's mother in hopes of more small wonders. Mikan promised him a gift beyond even those for the return of his mother. The god demanded such a thing in a day and Mikan set to work. Hour after hour he worked with heart and soul. But nothing was worth what his mother was to the god and all his ideas he scrapped. It was hours from the time limit and without a gift, he simply looked at all he had left - and clarity hit - his hands moved on their own, he wove fabrics through the loom faster than even he could realize - and by the end, what the new Solar had created was a wonder of textile and skill worth even his mother's lifetime of skill.
(Could easily work in any direction)
Caste: Twilight, maybe Eclipse
Supernal: Craft or Linguistics or for Eclipse, Bureacracy
South
Across the South, cults to the Yozi abound, and it was in a tent owned by one of these wild groups that Gu Nan was born under sorcerous green flames. Throughout his life, his people cried praises to the demon's of long before, but whether through conscious or fate, Gu Nan did not agree with these preachings or the vile words spoken. When a woman with a spear of gold tainted by Malfeas appeared to his people, calling for them to commit a profane ritual to summon the demon Manuzi, The-Sear-of-Black-Sand, by creating an oasis of ritually spilt blood, Gu Nan stood lone in his decrying of the woman - a radiant aura of light around his head. Their fight allowed him to disarm her and she fled - some of his tribe chasing after her while others flocked to him. He took the spear in hand and moved on, seeking to purify the spear of Yozi taint and the South itself.
Caste: Zenith
Supernal: Performance, Presence, or Survival
West
On every ship in the west, one might hear the tale of the fabled circus ship - traveling performers from across Creation or at least far enough around to seem that way. Traveling performer was the trade of Copper Crow. Not every man on the sea is so jolly as to simply see the show - a wealthy crowd in one port attracted the eyes of what seemed every cutpurse in the city. And yet not a single man, woman, or child expected a thing as their plans were foiled in ways that worked perfectly in the show, while Crow bobbed, weaved, and went unharmed while denying a single penny to the would be burglars.
Caste: Night
Supernal: Athletics or Dodge
