Rise of the Black Sun - Star Wars Saga Edition

Looking for a GM to run this game or something similar.

Game System: Saga Edition (All Books)

Era: Legacy

Character Level: 16+

Party Size: 3-5 players

The Empire rules the galaxy once more, this time under the control of the vile Darth Krayt, and resistance is crushed under the heels of Sith overlords.

The Jedi are scattered and devastated, with only a handful remaining to resist the tyranny of the Sith.

The Galactic Alliance fleet is but a shadow of its former self, struggling to stay hidden while engaging in hit-and-run attacks against the Empire.

This is the Legacy Era, set 130 years after the Battle of Yavin.

Our characters hale from organizations spanning the Galaxy who do not wish to run their business against the backdrop of a galaxy ruled by the Sith.  With the Jedi all but extinct once more and the Galactic Alliance Fleet scattered and in hiding, The Black Sun is now the largest military power able to be considered a threat by the Sith.

The Black Sun has merged its Crime Organization with a handful of marginally smaller Organizations.  Two of those organizations are a Force Tradition of force using Pirates (Zile'jidai - the Grey Jedi), and a Noble House Crime Syndicate (The House of Sizhran).

All Characters will be high level members of player created Organizations that band together under the banner of Dark Sun (under GM control) following its leaderships direction until such a time that the threat has been neutralized.

Most of Black Sun goes underground while its flagship carrying the current best of the best from each joining organization and a small army travel the Galaxy trying to make a difference and do their part in bringing balance back and ensure their respective organizations do not fall due to the growing Empire/Sith threat.

The Legacy Era is not a be all or end all in our search for a GM.  We chose Legacy primarily because it allows a player to use all the books before its era in character creation (feats, traits, equipment, etc)

If you will allow players to run specific Legacy requests and possibly requests from other era books, depending on how far back a GM wishes to place the setting, and be open to the possibility of allowing the material, then the game could be in any era.

The Legacy Era is rather an open canvas for just about anything a GM wishes to create.  Much information can be found online regarding this era.

Rise of the Black Sun - Star Wars Saga Edition

This Game had been taken up by a GM in mid December of last year.  We had 4 player's, each with one or more followers (Droids, bodyguards, padawans, and even a Zeltron dancer).

The GM has recently backed out for personal reasons.

The GM had created his own system for game play and characters were created using Saga Edition rules using these specifications:

This will take place 120+ Years After the Battle of Yavin

Ability points- 36 point buy system

HP will be MAX

Credits 450,000 credits

Level 16 Characters to start

House Rules:

1) No more than one droid allowed to accompany a character, and one aide to accompany too, please. You can keep several available to you, depending on if you can have that many aids per rules.

2) Same goes for Star Ships. You can have as many as you want to outfit, but only one will be on actual missions

3) You can haggle for goods, but do so with me, do not assume you take 10 or 20 and get the cheaper price.

4) You can spend all of your credits if you wish, however you need to have 10k per organizational scale in your account in order to pay your thugs, your rent, supplies, equipment. This credit check comes every 2 weeks in game. If you spend all of you credits to start, this will influence the missions you will need to set out on first. If you don't have the credits to pay your finances, you will start to lose personal org. scores.

5) When you embed your organization into a planet, it can be forcefully removed through conflict again. To "Lock down" a planet, you must complete and succeed on a mission planet-side

6) large Scale conflicts will be settled by dice rolls. However in the event of a tie or opposed rolls that are within 5 of each other, a space battle will ensue

7) The squad and cruisers gained through taking over planets can be added to your Organizations Power when trying to take over a planet. Squads count as +1, frigates +5, cruisers, destroyers +10, executor class, stations +20

8)Starting Credits for minions, aides, proteges. all other members of your organization have basic gear that is the equivalent of their stat block(Stormtrooper, rebel, battle droid etc)

Non-heroic/Minions
Level 1 - 1,000
Level 2 – 2,000
Level 3 – 6,000
Level 4 – 12,000
Level 5 – 20,000
Level 6 – 30,000
Level 7 – 42,000
Level 8 – 56,000
Level 9 – 72,000
Level 10 – 90,000
Level 11 – 110,000
Level 12 – 132,000
Level 13 – 156,000
Level 14 – 182,000
Level 15 – 210,000
Level 16 - 240,000

Heroic Aides
Level 2 – 2,500
Level 3 – 7,500
Level 4 – 15,000
Level 5 – 25,000
Level 6 – 37,500
Level 7 – 52,500
Level 8 – 70,000
Level 9 –  90,000
Level 10 – 112,500
Level 11 – 137,500
Level 12 – 165,000
Level 13 – 195,000
Level 14 – 227,500
Level 15 – 262,500
Level 16 – 300,000

9) Outfitting a ship with crew -
(untrained/Normal- no maneuvers) = 1,000 credits
(Skilled +1 gunner maneuver) = 2,000 credits
(expert +2 gunner maneuver) = 3,000 credits
(ace 4 gunner maneuver) = 4,000 credits

10) Used Ships - Whenever a used starship moves -3 steps on the condition track or lower, the used ship's condition becomes persistent. Until the ship recieves repairs, it cannot move up the condition track by means of the reroute power action. (Although jury-rigging can still be used).

Basically when a used vehicle takes enough damage, you have to dock/land and fully repair it, you can't bring it above -3 condition while still flying around.

I am looking for a GM to look at my original request and provide a game the character's we have created can play in.

Rise of the Black Sun - Star Wars Saga Edition

Just to clarify:

1) We are not looking for a GM to recreate and continue the previous game, as its homebrew mechanics would be difficult to relay to a new GM as they were not entirely divulged to the players.

2) We have 4 players (3 have confirmed their interest in continuing with a new GM, the 4rth has not weighed in yet)  The 4 Main characters and their followers are:

     a) Xizor  - High Prince of House Sizhran (Falleen  - Leader of House Sizhran)
Guri   - Dutchess    of House Sizhran (Human    - Personal Pilot and Bodyguard of Xizor)
P-75   - Vassal      of House Sizhran (Droideka - Personal Bodyguard of Xizor)
Jakira - Lady        of House Sizhran (Zeltron  - Dancer/Performer)

     b) Z3-RO           (Droid  - Leader of the Droid Cartel)
Sladru Helrot   (Cyborg - Z3-R0's aide)

     c) Hino Goodchilde (Human    - Head of the Jedi Tradition the Light of Providence)
Vofa Napus      (Miraluka - Hino's Padawan)

     d) Vik'ziru        (Unknown - Leader of the Apexis Conglomerate)
        Metreta         (Twi'lek - Vik'ziru's aide)

3) We are looking for a GM to create a story we can immerse our characters in with as little revision as possible but we are flexible and will work within whatever parameters a new GM wishes to set forth.

4) We are open to additional players being added to the game.

Rise of the Black Sun - Star Wars Saga Edition

Are you still looking for a GM?

I own all the Saga Edition books and would be happy to GM such a game and 3-4 players seems like an ideal amount.

One question: Is this game intended to be a casual play-by-post game or a session-based one. I would be happy to run either, but my time zone (GMT +0) may make the latter option somewhat difficult to plan.
