Teen(ish) Supers?

What I've really been wanting to find is a supers game that deals with people who are coming into their powers or are still learning the basics of teamwork and such.

I like the idea of the Gen 13 style where a group of kids get their powers in a school style setting where they had no idea this was going on or the new Spiderman cartoon style where someone assembles a group for training and missions where they're all still learning.

System isn't a big issue for me as long as I can get assistance with character gen if I need it. Freeform is an option but I'd prefer it guided fairly heavily by a GM. To avoid one player deciding he's super uber powerful and can do no wrong and resist anything, etc... I've had some really bad experiences with freeform, but I'm willing to give it another shot if needed. I'll admit that I can be somewhat slow in the character gen dept these days, so I may need assistance in systems I'm not familiar with.

Also, I'd like if people wanted to actually be a team and not have every other player making a lone wolf style who can't stand to be near others. Just a peeve of mine in games styling to be team when everyone decides to be junior Wolverines.

Open to ideas and such, it's just a style of game I've played in before and loved and just find very little out there.

Are you aware of the Progenitor setting for Wild Talents?

I have a concept for a high school football team with their cheerleaders (if anyone wants to play a female) returning from an away game. A bridge collapses and the bus plunges into a river. They are saved by Teleporter and some of the people on the bus gain powers from this. (in Progenitor, powers are contagious). I'd prefer the powers be taken from the book, as they list several base archetypes, and everyone would have the same power level (point wise) even if their powers are completely different. Also, I'd choose a lower level of points for powers, so it would be relatively street level.

I like that concept. I'd be willing to play, and I could GM. I've got a easily adaptable homebrew system that basically just lets me decide what happens when X punches Y in the face. It allows actions and choices to be freeform, but the actual results depend on GM decision. Period.

If you'd like me to, I could run this for a game I've suggested on the Game Proposals Thread. I call the system 'Manhunt'

Never heard of Progenitor. Not sure I like the idea that powers are contagious honestly.

Well, at the power level I'm talking about your chance of infection would be very low. Likely wouldn't show up in the game. I only want to use the setting because of the power archetypes. Making Char Gen very easy. Wild Talents can get very complicated with powers creation. And frankly, it's easy to break the system if given free reign.

I'm actually interested in running Masks: A New Generation, which is very similar to what you're looking for.  It's currently being Kickstarted, and backers get the playbook drafts.

Oh, it's a *World game, so in the same vein as Apocalypse World and Dungeon World.
