WFRP 2e (Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2e)
I could be convinced to run a game like this, provided the initial 3-6 players are all willing to post no less that twice a week, and not expect more than 3-4 on average from me, as I have a good job and a decent social life outside of RPoL. :)
- I consider myself a very good writer, and so generally don't bother with detailed battle maps, preferring instead to let the players visualize and move about with only minor interference from me and the terrain.
- I log in daily, but generally only update things at obvious points; since most of you seem hopeful for an RP-driven adventure, that suits me just fine.
- I'm lenient on character builds, meaning that [similar to Cthulhu], the grim world of WFRP is filled with danger, and no matter how tough/good/OP you think you are, you can be felled by a clever or lucky opponent. I don't mark people for death, the RPoL dice roller does it for me. ;)
Some things we should consider if this is going to happen:
1. How much XP/advancements would you want to be involved in your careers to begin with? I can hop you in as fresh recruits, or give, say...300-700 xp to build you into something more respectable to begin the game.
2. How important do you want your adventures [and characters] to be in the grand scale? I just read Blackhearts last month, and that is what I usually envision with adventurers: nothing so great as Felix & Gotrek's heroic adventures, but enough to tip the scales locally, with cascading effects.
3. How much will magic play a role in the adventure? I mean both the types of encounters [wizards and foul rituals], the types of players [spellcasters and priests], and the prevalence of magical items in the world? On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being a Conan-esque bare minimum, 10 being the overly-laden country of Halruaa in the Forgotten Realms setting.
This likely would not officially start until after new year's, though the building and prep work can all be done in the next few weeks, if we get enough interest.
