Looking for a DM to teach rookies

Hi, I'm pretty new to this, and have not played D&D since I was a kid. Hoping an experienced GM, with patience, would start a game and invite a couple of beginners. Love Forgotten Realms-setting. Hit me up, if you like the idea.

A GM must be able to teach everything from character creation, combat, and give tips to good roleplaying.

Would like a pbg-game on this site. GM and other rookies, hit me up :)

Did you have a particular version of DnD that you would like to play? It's easy to access the free info online for 3.5 through the srd. I'm beginning to like 5th Edition more and more, though its free resources are limited (there's a free bare-bones pdf available to download). That is, of course, assuming that you do not have any of the books already.

Not a rookie RPGer, but rookie to 5E.  I would like to learn within a group of rookies.

I got a 5th edition, so that would be great as well. But the question is: who wants to DM and teach? :)

It might take a little while, also keep your eyes out on new games that pop up.  However, 3.5 seems to be a favorite on this site for some reason.

I would totally jump on that train. And yeah, 3.5 seems to be a favorite on this site. I have no preference, having never played before, but am also not sure how to get my hands on the materials. Anyone have a link to a PDF of D&D manuals? Multiple if possible?

But yeah, a simple, slow-pace game for rookies would be awesome, rand by a patient GM. I've been looking for something like that but have had no luck yet.

EDIT: I also am most interested in FR setting! You seem to be my half-hour-in-the-future clone @KongErik! Lol

13th Age could also be kind of cool.  It's made by guys that made DnD 4e and I think it makes for some unique characters since all classes have options to allow the player to tailor them to their play style.

@highpriestkraken, thank you very much, I'll make sure to bookmark that page. I also ended up finding a complete .pdf of the 3.5 DnD handbook, if anyone is interested.

In reply to jac74 (msg # 11): that would be great. Do you want to create a game and maybe invite the ones who showed interest?

Exciting. Hopefully we can gather a small group of enthusiastic beginners. And we could all learn and  help each other out. Knowing the other players are new as well, might make it more comfortable.

Great. Did we settle on 3.5? I suggest people read up as much as they can before we start.

If you're up for a 3.5 game, feel free to stop by mine to check it out.

I'm starting players off in a PHB only low frills game, and I can fit in a few new people.

link to another game

It's got a homebrew world and pantheon, but I'm more than willing to help people out.
