Looking for the right sandbox...
Hi,
I'd really like to play in a campaign that is more of a sandbox than an adventure path. The Kingmaker by Pathfinder or King of the Giantdowns back in Birthright is the style I'm looking for. It doesn't have to be a "becoming a king" scenario. Those are just the published things that come to mind.
I'm not completely system agnostic but as long as it has a little bit of mechanical crunch to hang my hat on, I'm fine. I like Fantasy AGE, D&D (various incarnations), Pathfinder, Hero System, GURPS... or things like that.
What I bring to the table... I'm not boring. I'll have my character do things and get into trouble without you having to rope them into it. I'll push the plot. I'll have goals and work hard to push the game towards them. I won't be passive. I won't be difficult to goad into action. I will DO things.
What I'd like you to bring to the table... Worthy opposition. Hard to be the hero if the villains are push overs. Play the NPC's well and true to their goals. I'd like you to enjoy improvising and reacting to my character's actions. I'd like you to have a bunch of cool NPC's with interesting and sometimes opposing goals that react appropriately rather than a pre-determined plot of some sort. Be epic!
If you are wondering what kind of play I like, I'm currently running a game and I had one game stop.
If this appeals to you as a GM, I'd love to discuss the possibility of a game. If you are already running a game that I can join in, that's awesome too. I would like to keep the game either to just me or just me and 1 or 2 others. I find it hard to do the whole "push the player agenda" when there are too many player agenda's to push. Having one or two other players gives some cool stuff to riff off of though.
Thanks for your time.
Andrew
