A wild west game

I would love to see a wild west game. I would rather play in a historical than a deadlands/supernatural setting. Not certain what system. Maybe Fate, but one that allows for the feeling of the wild west as well as facilitates Role play. Not a fan of Free Form. Would play in Sandbox or PvE style of game.

Re: A wild west game

I'd also be interested in a wild west game that didn't have supernatural elements but did include a system.

I'd be happy with a Sandbox set up but would prefer some clear objective, e.g. a posse hunting down a gang of outlaws or a range war between different groups or something similar.

Re: A wild west game

DriveThruRPG has a free Western set of rules - Go For Yer Gun! (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/pr...;filters=700_0_0_0_0). I've never played but it looks fun and again, free.

Whatever the system a Western could be a lot of fun. Interested as a player.

In reply to RossN (msg # 3):

I've always wanted to run a game where the PCs are looking for NPC X, but no one shares their reason for doing so. If you've seen the KWAS mini-game called Vendetta Run, I could use that without the supernatural stuff.

Re: A wild west game

While I have Go fer yer gun, would you be willing to try a scaled back version of a d20 system? I've always wanted to do a Cowboys vs Aliens game but if people are looking for a historical/realistic game I could attempt to draw on Red Dead Redemption.

Re: A wild west game

If you are looking for a d20 historical/realistic "Wild West" game without the supernatural element, "Sidewinder: Recoiled" is a good set of rules (although not exactly what I would call "rules-lite").

Re: A wild west game

I was actually mulling over the idea of running a western game, but I hadn't decided on a system.  I actually considered at one time pulling out the Boothill rules, but I could possibly try FATE.

Re: A wild west game

I had a game of Boothill running. I put it on hold for a bit as a few of my players lost interest and I needed a break. It was based on the spagetti western "hang Em High". The system worked very well for RPoL.

Re: A wild west game

Booth Hil 3rd edition is a prequel to d20 games. It is one of my all time favorite games to play in. It's the only game I've experienced where death is literally one die roll away every time you get into a fight. Super exciting IMO.

Re: A wild west game

me and my girl Friend are still looking for a good wild west game. Boot hill is good for combat, but I feel there is only one character purpose. Be fast and shoot better.

Re: A wild west game

Hi there! I'm running a deadlands game, but without all the supernatural stuff. If you're interested, let me know.
