Cypher System Gamma World or Culture-based game

So that's the system for Numenera and The Strange, for the curious. Anybody ever tried this combination? Had any luck with it?

For Gamma World, my preference for tone would be more on the gonzo side of things. I actually liked the open-endedness encouraged by 7th Edition's Big Mistake explanation, and I'd like to see some real world locations, especially outside of North America.

And when I say Culture, that's the Culture from Iain M Banks's novels. I'm not necessarily looking for a game actually set in that universe. One that shares an overall tone and a lot of the same technology would be enough. Since that kind of hyperadvanced technology having existed before the Ninth World arrived in its current straits is a big part of Numenera's background, I think there'd be sufficient mechanical support for this to work.

I'd also consider Eclipse Phase or Sufficiently Advanced, but I've never played those, so it would require some handholding.

I would love to play in a Culture-based game. One of my favorite series/settings.

It's probably not easy to capture the spirit of the setting in a game systems, but it still always surprises me that the attempt doesn't get made more often.

Interested for sure in playing in a Culture game, provided it had a small number of players.
