DnD 5th Edition: Pirates

As the title alludes, I'd like to see a 5th edition game following the party as members of a pirate crew. Would probably be best to have an NPC captain, with perhaps his decisions being decided by OOC votes by the players: unless all players are okay with a player character as the captain.

Yes, I know there is an entire Pathfinder adventure path based on this, but I'm not really into Pathfinder much anymore. I also know there are other pirate-centric systems, but I'm not so much interested in learning a new system. I'm on a 5th Edition kick right and I'd like to stick with it.

I'd like for the gunpowder rules from the Dungeon Master's Guide to be allowed, too, mostly to achieve that Age of Sail flavor.

Re: DnD 5th Edition: Pirates

I can't take on another game right now, but I'd be remiss not to point this out: http://www.enworld.org/forum/s...amp-Crossbones-(FULL) It's not just a forum game, but a ton of work put into new rules and mechanics for pirate-themed adventures in 5e.

Hope it helps!

Re: DnD 5th Edition: Pirates

I'm currently running a game where there has been mention of pirates a couple times which the PCs have ignored so far. No reason you couldn't join in as a pirate and cause some trouble for the heroes.
