Not new here but new to non-Freeform

Hi there. This may be the wrong place to put this since I've been roleplaying on here on and off for over year or so in freeform games but I've yet to venture into anything with rigid rules. I've tried to sit down and learn various rulesets for various systems but nothing's really stuck and I feel like I'm depriving myself of a lot of the content on here.

This is really just to say that while I'm not new to RPoL I'm a novice when it comes to pen and paper RPGs and I'm looking to change that. If anyone can recommend a good game of any system just to learn the ropes on as a player - preferably something like DnD 3.5 or 5, Pathfinder or maybe SW Saga Edition - I would be very grateful :)

What would you like in a game? Solo, or a group? What genre would you like? The more info you can give, the more we can help you out.

If you don't mind sci-fi I have a great little bit of paranoia going on. There are rules. But it's considered treason to know them, the dice lie, a lot, and what you type really affects the game. It isn't free form but it does offer freedom. As long as your not a commie mutant traitor of course. Rmail me if you are interested.

Re: Not new here but new to non-Freeform

Although DnD is the most popular system, it's maybe one of the harder ones to learn if you're not used to system-based games. While it's easy enough at its core, it's very fiddly and detailed. Especially in combat.

I'd be happy to walk you through a few tutorials. Rmail me if you like and we can talk about it.

Thanks for the offers, I'm currently taking lessons from a couple of different people now. Thanks for all the interest though :)
