The elevator pitch: a socially mal-adjusted teenager from meth-country makes a cross-country trek in search of her kid brother. The sacrifices, atrocities, and compromises she is forced to commit along the way threaten more than her life; they threaten her humanity.

I'd like to keep this rules-lite: the Window or perhaps Savage Worlds, but nothing more complicated than that. The focus is on personal and party drama, rather than tactical combat and head-smashing.

This is not the post-apocalypse. This is not 28 Days Later. It is Day Zero; right in the heart of the madness. It also need not be zombies. I have other ideas as well. (Hint: winter is coming.)
