Numenera - Out of the Weal of Baz

I'm looking for a Numenera GM for a somewhat odd character/party.  When I was perusing the character options book for Numenera, I came across a combination of descriptor and focus which I thought would make for a really interesting and unique character.

I want to be a Bazian jack who Battles Automatons.  A bit contradictory on the surface, as a Bazian is an organic native of the Weal of Baz, a sanctuary "city" of artificial life, while the Battles Automatons focus initially speaks of those who hate automatons.

My idea was thus:  The Bazian jack was brought back to the Weal of Baz as a child, perhaps from an automaton whose last programmed command was to deliver the child into a place of safety.  (The child's guardians were about to be killed and took a last-ditch effort to protect their kid.)  Those in the Weal were mistrustful of the "organic" in their midst, but as the guardian automaton had a mission, it was allowed to stay.  Using recorded observations and the occasional tap from the datasphere, the child was brought up more or less successfully.  The child, now called Final Command, or Fin, after the last words given to its guardian, considers itself as much of an automaton as it can, considering its odd organic requirements, and knows more about mechanical systems than biologic ones.

Then, disaster.  The Weal was attacked by a rogue mechanical intelligence, whom paralyzed the defenses of all the machines who lived therein.  (The specifics of the foe can be up to the GM, perhaps some Peerless or Mastigophores, a Dark Fathom or even a terrible Dread Destroyer).  Regardless, the Weal is left deeply wounded, and Fin's guardian destroyed.  Knowing that other machines it has known in the Weal will be targeted by the rogue automaton, wherever they roam, Fin has been chosen to go out into the organic world to protect other machine intelligences and to permanently deactivate this rogue and its allies.  As Fin is one of the few who both understands automatons and cannot be affected by the rogue's paralyzing attack, it has to be the one to save the future of the Weal.

For a potential GM, perhaps this could be a solo game, or maybe Fin makes allies (and other players join in the fun) in its quest to protect the Weal.  (For example, there could be someone with the Fuses Flesh with Steel, Fuses Mind and Machine, Talks to Machines, or Rides the Lightning - anyone who may have also been allied with the Weal of Baz.)

Anyone interested in GMing something like that?

In reply to Isida KepTukari (msg # 1):

If Fin gets allies, of love to be one! I've been itching to try Numenera. So's an IRL friend; I could probably secure his involvement, too.

Your idea is very interesting. I'll be your GM if you let me. I'm currently running the Devil's Spine, and you can check how that's going at this link: link to another game (please let me know if you need extra permissions).

I need to know how much freedom would I have with the story, things you definitely want to happen, things you don't want to see at all, the tone of the story... I can run for one or more people, it's OK by me.

Re: Numenera - Out of the Weal of Baz

Thanks so much for taking an interest!

I definitely want there to be some crisis facing the Weal of Baz - an attack on the city, or an assassination, a "virus," something facing the automatons of the Weal that Fin, my Bazian Jack (and any allies it might have), would be asked to deal with because its organic nature renders it less vulnerable to whatever attacks were so devastating to the automatons.

What exactly that crisis might be is up to you.  How Fin finds the author of this crisis, and what allies it might have, is totally up to you.  What weirdness Fin might encounter in its journey is all you.

I am totally open to having other people joining in.  :)

For tone, I'm somewhat flexible.  I don't want it bleak or overly comedic, but I could see some investigation as Fin and company track down the Bad Guy, some action/adventure, maybe a bit of pathos if they come across other evidence of the Bad Guy's predations, and even some humor as Fin is like, "what is this 'culture' and 'manners' of which you speak?"

I created the game at link to another game . I already added the character "Final Command" to Isida KepTukari. Viaken, if you can still join, I'll need your character's name.
