Star Trek

I've been trying for awhile now to get into a Star Trek game. Seems most of the ones I've applied for have not made it out of initial recruitment or have fizzled out shortly after I've applied to join. They used a set of Free Form Rules.
I would really love to give it a try and have a few ideas I would be willing to run through with anyone. I know a few others who have been trying to get into a game that last for awhile as well.
I have the Decipher Books and would be willing to go through ideas in that process unless there's another system that would be easier to get this off the ground and rolling.
Just throwing this out for interest sake.... hopefully it goes some where.

Re: Star Trek

I was just commenting the other day that it seems I am never destined to play in a Star Trek game.  Everyone I join seems to end at creation or shortly after the first mission starts.

I would be interested in playing a game. Hopefully one that will make it past the first mission this time.

Re: Star Trek

I applied for a Star Trek game - the USS Churchill - things were goin good until it stopoed before we even left spacedock. Yeah, its tough getting a ST game off the ground, no matter the system. Im used to the older FASA system and not familiar with decipher or last unicorn - just perused the books a few years ago.

Re: Star Trek

I only have the Decipher Books, but would be willing to play in any system myself. I had the Decipher when a friend of mine was going to run a campaign. Life hit him pretty hard and spiraled out of control, and the game was cancelled.
The one's I've applied for on here have all been Free-Form or Windows based games. Not too much to them system wise.

Re: Star Trek

I was and sort of still an in a star trek game. Sadly it lost all but 2 of us. I'll mention to the gm that there are people looking and have him bump the ad in players wanted.

Re: Star Trek

There's a site for the Decipher Resources.

Not sure what rpol's policy is on that stuff, but PM me and I'll give you the link for it.

Re: Star Trek

There was a free-form Star Trek game set just after the Dominion War about a year ago that went on long enough for 3828 posts but alas that fizzled out. It'd be great to see a new Star Trek game that had some longevity to it.

Re: Star Trek

The LUG system was great. Wasn't aware there was a new one.

Re: Star Trek

Hi!

Have a look at our game. Some periods have been more active than others which is understandable given that this game is over five years old and has 20k+ posts. We currently have three different duty stations (two ships and a space station with associated smaller vessels for missions) and three GMs running them.

We are post Dominion War and Nemesis and only very selectively use Star Trek Online pieces. It always has to fit into our universe.
