non act driven god game

I have seen a few god games around and the whole act system dose not appeal to much to me, the whole once written it can not be unwritten thing is interesting but that's the kinda thing.  Getting in from the start you have more control over things but there fundamental laws to set up to keep some one from mucking things up from spite or the like and it's generally prone to falling apart on it's own with people making laws that don't work out so well. Joining things in late things are stable but you aren't free to make the kinda acts you can early on.

The simple it's done.... no one even the person that did it can undo it... may lead to people thinking things through more, but over time it can lead to a point you can't make acts that matter.... a death of entropy in the game world.  IMHO if you want to lock down laws they should be able to changed or conflicted after a set amount of time.

But anyhow I have seen two or three games based around the idea of the world falling appart because some dark force from outside existence.... a non existence devouring existence.  Not an uncomon theme.... before reality there was nothing then reality invaded that nothing and the nothing is fighting the invasion off.   The result is sorta a mutual destruction of the gods and the source of the nothing.

So there all these fragmented worlds and divinity and nothing scatered about and some people on those worlds come appon the shatered divinity.  Some already had some mater of power, some are reborn gods re-claming what was theres, some destined savors, some just people who stumbled on with dumb luck.... but they gain some bit of divinity.

So your a sorta god and people flock to you because worlds are slowly dying as the fragmented darkness spreads. You gather your people and fortify your goddlyhood through inlightenment, gainning more worshipers, finding more divinity and the like and grow and try and save what your can or beat the darkness back.

More than half of them seam to be around Yggdrasil being killed, and trying to breath life back into the tree before the branches conecting the worlds crumble away.... because after that....well have to find other means of getting between worlds grow lesser world trees together or the like....

but yah all the 'gods' have meta stats and are quite powerfull beings but they start out barrly counting as gods and work there way up into all powerfull beings.

I rather like this because while your like a dimi god right from the start, your out travling the world leading your people... kinda a combination of a god game and a king one I guess....   though I beleave you are supose to spend most your time in a divine realm you can still go down and be with your people....

Though going into battle with them agenst another god isn't the best of ideas, dependa on the game but there were rules to that and generaly if you are allowed to and you do the other god dose too..... generaly you let the armies handle it or you do yourself... not both.

Re: non act driven god game

Interesting twist you're proposing. What are you after? Advice? A Co-GM? Someone to run this? Assuming the latter, any constraints on how, what system, etc?

Re: non act driven god game

I've seen a few I want to play I spent a long time reworking a race I thought would be neat for it for the game and then the GM deleted our characters and asked us to reapply so when I said there was no way I could reapply that fast I spent days putting out like ten pages of strudel for this race he said well maybe you should have made it more consise and laughed at me Golding me he didn't even look at it because it was to long and that's why he deleted it. I was all like wtf and he said next time try making it shorter and more readable and was Just being a Huge jerk about it. Then when I told him off he aprently told me off and banned me .... Real smart can't read you getting your last word in if you ban me >.>

But yah there like friendly plant Zerg but they don't kill people and generally don't convert people by force unless there at war. (Better to convert by force than to kill) they are a bit over powered but only on there home turf which they are much slower tone spans than other races. Forceful expansion they are at quite the disadvantage particularly because they are reluctant to kill living things if it can be avoided.

Generally there rather scary but not if you work with them or fight them smart like on a cloudy night away from there land or forcing them underground some where away from. Also if you can find a way to poison the land.... Yah that will make beating them a lot easier.  Would have a hard time ageist a death army, they can't convert the dead but the dead can convert them and taint there land.

Re: non act driven god game

I have run the ACT driven god games before, but the idea of running a differing one could be interesting.

Could you enumerate the exact differences you actually want in this sort of game?

Do you want absolutely no rules and only roleplay, very light rules, similar rules to the ACT game but less strict?

You have given a general overview of big things that you like or dislike, but no exact things you would want in the game.

There aren't many god-game systems out there, so anything like this would either have to be made from scratch or modified (unless it was fully free-form).

There is only one system of God Game I can think of which is mildly like what you seem to want, but it runs on Points instead of ACTs, but rules are less strict.  The Gods more directly interact with the world in this system as well.

Give me an exact list of what you'd like, and I'll see what I can do or if I feel up to it.
