A little something Arcane
I've been reading through the complete series and I am struck again by how much I enjoy reading Complete Arcane. In that book there is a section for substituting arcane classes for party roles, ie Warmage for fighter and Bard for healer. It struck me that this might form the basis for an interesting campaign.
Each player must play an arcane caster type, no exceptions. Cross class as normal except you may only cross class into arcane caster types. Party level I think should be 6-9, high enough that basic survivability is no longer an issue and the characters now have the opportunity to really influence the world around them.
Setting should be either homebrew or something like Fey Run. High magic is obviously a integral part of the campaign, but some random thoughts as well. Perhaps there is no divine magic (which was why I suggested Fey Run).
Party should be the 5 standard, each adhering to one of the basic "types" of character - Front Line fighter, Healer, Controller/sniper, Skill monkey, and Gap filler. Gap filler would be optional if the GM and or players decide not to use it.
As always I prefer to be reached by Rmail. Thanks for having a look.
