Rifts

I've been itching for a game of Rifts for a while now. I'll start out with what I don't want - I'm not interested in an endless list of house rules or mods, or Rifts converted to another system. I'm aware of the system's various problems, and they're (usually) part of the nostalgic charm for me.

Now to what I am looking for.

A slower posting rate. My available gaming/posting time is somewhat limited right now, and I'm still going to focus most of that on the games I'm running, so I'd like to find a GM who can live with a rate as low as 1 - 2 posts/week. Sometimes more is possible, particularly if I can overcome reluctance to post from my phone, but right now the listed rate is within my comfort zone.

An adult game.

Small group.

Combat that doesn't drag. It's doable, and mostly involves making sure all relevant information is in a given post. Sometimes it can require a bit of ironing out or going back to fix something, but it's how I handle things in my crunchier game, and it's worked fairly well thus far.

Beyond that I don't have a lot of specific ideas in mind. While I don't have everything, I do have a large amount of Rifts (and non-Rifts Palladium) material; though that doesn't mean every subsetting or idea appeals to me equally, I'm generally willing to at least entertain a particular idea.

Having said that, if you'd like to discuss an idea, want an idea of my posting style, or what have you, feel free to drop me an rMail to that effect (as I'm more likely to see that than replies here).

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Re: Rifts

Any reason you're after Adult rather than Mature? I will probably run a game after Christmas but it won't be Adult

Re: Rifts

Largely, it's because the Adult flag while by no means a label that anything goes, provides a level of comfort and freedom without having to worry that I'm running up against a content barrier. Particularly in the case of something like Rifts, which is an incredibly terrible place when you get right down to it. It's not particularly about wanting to play a villain as such, or having an alien gun that makes everyone's clothes fall off, but the ability to explore and engage with the setting in a more organic/less restricted fashion (and then blow the ever-loving #@%&$! out of things with a small arsenal). Some people might feel the Mature flag is adequate to that desire, but I don't happen to agree.

Re: Rifts

More of a gentle nudge than a bump. I would still like to find a game that lets me scratch the itch for Rifts as well as giving me a game to play in rather than run. Still looking for the same basic criteria as in the first post. Might be able to flex on the posting rate. The concern being that I don't want to agree to something I'm not able to maintain, or can do so only at the expense of the games I run, as I don't consider either of those an acceptable outcome.
