1 on 1 D&D 3.5 Game

Looking for a gm to run me in a world. I'm looking to run a lvl 1 Mindstealer Drone from Oslecamo's adaptations.

I'm not adverse to this turning into a party game around level 5 or 6. But initially solo to at least get some character background.

So, minor sandbox preferably. Setting, feel free to go with whatever you are comfortable with. (no Plane of Water please)

And please, no one hunting me from the get-go.

Re: 1 on 1 D&D 3.5 Game

Please note, this is not going to be a Good character. Any gm looking at this must be aware that the content will likely be mature.

I don't need a particularly experienced gm either. Anyone with some time on their hands who is new or willing to learn is more than welcome to apply

not saying i'll be willing to run the game for you but I'm not familiar with Oslecamo's adaptations, can you give me/us some reference for that?

Re: 1 on 1 D&D 3.5 Game

Oslecamo is a well known poster on the MinMax Boards (Formerly the Giant in the Playground).

He has put a lot of work into adapting 3.5 monsters into racial classes in the same flavor as Savage Species did. No LA or Racial HD. However, there are differences but I'm not sure I could explain them off the top of my head.

He has also gotten a number of people into doing the same work, and this comes with people creating monster PrCs (from Doppelganger to Greater Doppelganger up to Ethereal Doppelganger, Kython PrCs, Greater Shadow) Templates (Swarmshifter, Shadow Creature, Titanic Creature, Paragon, Legendary Creature) and even specialized feats for monsters (Deepspawn being able to create Outsiders or Elementals for example) or more general feats like Deceivingly Innocent Form, which lets any monster masquerade about as a mostly human version of themselves.

You can find it all under Oslecamo's Improved Monster Classes on the MinMax Boards.

Re: 1 on 1 D&D 3.5 Game

As a piece of advice, requesting a game for a character with X mechanics sends GMs running. You can't build a world around a bland set of stats. If you want someone to run the game, give them a character with X backstory and personality.

Re: 1 on 1 D&D 3.5 Game

That's just it though, the personality of the char is nothing complicated. Look out for #1.

Mentality is much the same with survival being top priority with little regard to others.

Survive. Evolve (gain power).

Backstory, is easily adaptable to a number of things, but in general it is the only MS Drone left from some kind of purge or magical incident. Or perhaps it is the first Mind Stealer in existence.
Planeshifted from some kind of grand magic misfire, an Underdark escapee from Illthids, the final drone who escaped an age old omni-planar purge by being sealed away....until a group of hapless adventurers breaks the seal expecting treasure.

I left it so open ended for the gm side simply to have as much leeway as possible since crafting a backstory is simple (For this char at least). If I'd been proposed with a setting the char could fit into it with maybe a day's thought.

Re: 1 on 1 D&D 3.5 Game

But that is missing the point. It might be a good idea if you were rtjing for existing games, but if you're asking for a gm to create a game for your character, then make the full character so the gm can craft the game around that character.

Re: 1 on 1 D&D 3.5 Game

When put like that it certainly makes more sense...guess I've gotten a bit too used to simply pitching character ideas to existing games.

To be fair from what I've posted so far you can get the char details.

personality and mentality, the class/race being Mind Stealer Drone, even back story ideas to show I've put a lot of thought into it. All I really left open was the setting. And setting well, I'd want whatever gm felt like giving me a shot, to develop their own and surprise me.

I suppose I've been wanting to run the Drone in a kind of Prototype scenario.
Starting with nearly nothing but a few powers, then having a plot line where I need to grow more powerful while trying to stay hidden from those who would kill me until I'm ready to eliminate them.

might pitch this idea over there as well....hm, now there's a novel idea, Evolved...
