Numenera Game

I've been running a Numenera game of my own, but when I stumbled across an ad earlier today I realized that I was interested in having a chance to play it too. Sadly the game was adult, which isn't something I'm interested in, so I thought I would see if anyone is interested is running a game so I would have an opportunity to play as well!

I'm not particularly picky about the content of the game. I don't need it to take place in a particular country, a certain year, or have a particular theme. The only real things I'm looking for are quality writing, a GM who is flexible enough to let the players solve problems in ways he didn't expect, and who puts narrative before number crunching.

Having a game light on the action side, or who allows action to be optional, would be ideal. (Because lets be honest, combat that goes longer than 2 or 3 rounds in a Play-By-Post format gets dull very quickly!)

Anyone out there up for running such a thing?

I'm not sure how those two statements line up, so would you like to explain your aversion to Adult?  If it's simply that you're a minor, that makes sense.  What exactly about "Adult" do you object to?

I've toyed with the idea of starting a game but I tend to run either Mature or Adult games simply to give myself a certain freedom that I rarely even need.  That and I'm not entirely comfortable running games for people who might be 13.

Re: Numenera Game

I'm just simply not interested in the themes that adult opens up for roleplaying. I greatly enjoy and in fact prefer mature games, but don't have much interest in the explicitness that is involved in the step from mature to adult.

With that said, other than removing the possibility of the game devolving into graphic sex, torture and other adult themes, I am very open to what content the GM is interested in running.

Re: Numenera Game

I would love to play a numenera game. I do agree and understand the statement on adult games. I have really never needed to go to adult level.

M-rating works for me as a hard ceiling.  Narrowing it down to one or two characters out of the dozen or so in my noggin?  That's the tough part.

What do you guys like about 9th World?  For me, it's the delighful melange of weirdness, coupled with a game that doesn't hinge on bodycount.

Re: Numenera Game

Um... If there's already a GM, I'd be willing to play along as a player.

If there isn't a GM yet, I could function as GM if needed, too, though I think there are a few others who can do so as well.

Re: Numenera Game

I'd like to play a Numenera game that also incorporates mechanical options (character stuff, and maybe some creatures) from The Strange, too.
