Re: worlds largest dungeon

I'm willing to run under 3 conditions. 1 no minmax. 2 things like food, disease, and sleep will all be closely track and deprivation of those things will lead to problems. 3, certain "easy mode" spells will be either removed or altered. No more create water or things like that. Players will have to not only fight through the dungeon but also survive  in its harsh environment.

And then everyone died.  Kidding, of course.  (Maybe.)

More seriously, that thing is huge and full of combat.  I can't fathom how long it would take to clear that thing.  Also, I think people should totally be allowed to minmax a bard.  Bards are bad enough to get all the help they can.

In reply to Zadian (msg # 7):

I'd love to get in on this game, if you're taking another. I'll bring the sorcerous might!

using only
the three core books
magic item compendium
spells compendium

i am not really sure how much min max one could do using ONLY these books but if you are willing so am i

with out spells like create water and hero's feast, and no way to leave and resupply on food and water.

like Cyna said
quote:
And then everyone died.

i would like to play this game with you, no mater the obstacles. i have played with the gambit of GMs so i can understand where you are coming from.

Re: worlds largest dungeon

I dont have the dungeon so I can't run it but I would also be on board as a player, even with the restrictions above, or perhaps especially with the restrictions above.

Honestly those 'create food and drink' type spells always struck me as detracting from the game, especially since I don't think it really fits with the 'fantasy' genre for every 10th level cleric to basically be Jesus and the 20th level ones to be God... It also sets off some other interesting dichotomies: Which is more important to loot from the tribe of orcs and carry away with you; their gold and silver, or the portions of their food stores that the party can eat...? And when you've killed that Purple Worm, what's your highest priority: getting to a safe place to rest, or fleeting and salting that sucker for dinner for the next week? I think it would add something to the story if these sorts of things were serious questions.

Oh, and lest I forget: though this one is very dark: "Is it actually cannibalism for the human to eat the corpse of an orc?" They can interbreed, but then, so can lions and tigers...
