Planescape/Spelljammer (or other DnD) via Strands of Fate?
I've been a longtime fan of the "weirder" DnD settings- Eberron, Spelljammer, Planescape, etc- but have never been particularly fond of its mechanics. I've recently read "Strands of FATE," and "Strands of Power," an older version of the Fate system which seems to me might be perfect for bridging the gap between Dungeons and Dragons and FATE mechanics, in particular in the way it facilitates Vancian magic and allows for steady character development. That Fate is generally low on direct situational modifiers for rolls is easily rectified by making more zone or situational aspects persistent, if one prefers.
Any GMs interested in trying this mix?
