Force and Destiny

So I'm really interested in playing a Dark Side aligned Force user in the new Force and Destiny system from FFG. I'm familiar with this as well as FFG's other Star Wars RPG games. I'm currently GMing a couple games using it, and playing a light side guy, but I'm really wanting to jump into the role of a dark side Force user and see how crazy it can get. Any takers? I don't mind going in solo if need be.

In reply to snayke_eiyes (msg # 1):

I ran a grey/dark-ish game years ago in the old D6 system.  It got pretty crazy after a few years of running it.  I would be interested in playing, and maybe running, such a game.  Though my stories tend to deviate WILDLY from the way the EU portrayed the Jedi/Sith and the force in general.

Re: Force and Destiny

I always viewed the force as neutral.  It is neither Light nor Dark.  And powers are not necessarily light or dark.  It is in their use and intentions that make them good or evil.

Re: Force and Destiny

yeah, i always liked that interpretation of it as well. that's my favorite way of viewing the Force.

Re: Force and Destiny

I agree.  Let me know if you are interested.  And if anyone else is interested.  I will work on getting something together.

Re: Force and Destiny

this system lends well to that too. giving you the option to do almost whatever power you like so long as you get your pips. only limited by alignment every now and then.

but yeah, i'm interested. how would you have my character? i was originally thinking a Consular archaeologist (not the spec) type looking for secrets of the ancient Force users, maybe only pushing him further down the path. but if you have a better idea that still fits with the morally corrupted Force user character, let me know. I'm down for whatever era as well, if that makes it any easier.

how do you view things imbued with a certain side? the Demon Mask from the FaD book, for instance, being inherently dark side.

Re: Force and Destiny

While The Force itself is neutral it's use definitely is not. An item that has been used extensively by its owner would have sort of an "imprint" left on it. So a very light or dark user would leave an echo of the self on an item. And that echo would be like a small whisper advising you to do good or bad things.

As for character ideas, well, starting out neutral is a good spot. And then finding artifacts or lore could influence one way or the other. Or maybe starting out the appreciate to a not-so-light Jedi would skew your moral vision.

Re: Force and Destiny

that makes sense. start out neutral just to show that the person is horrible, not because he's dark side.

Re: Force and Destiny

when you have some sort of setting information in place, let me know, I might be interested in playing a dark sider as well.
