Re: 7th Seas
To re post the message I sent to the last prospective GM.
Personally with 7th Sea I like the adventure side, discovery and interaction over deep courtly intrigues and complex machinations, even if the back drop is just in a small provincial town or the like. I'm more interested in the human side of things with the creepy crawlies and things that go bump in the night more a back drop occasional encounter, or final destination, rather than the full on focus of the game. Long distance travel I would rather see in montages of scenes rather than a long drawn out slog, more Indiana Jones that Lord of the Rings. :)
I've had a fair amount of experience with 7th Sea and enjoy it immensely, but have only ever played it and thus stayed away as much as possible from GM's only sections, because I do like surprises. I'm also of the school of if the rules get in the way of something then the GM should bend them some for dramatic license as long as it isn't a grinding step away from the feeling of the game (A legion of brutes armed with Syrinth Death Rays defending the only block of cheese that will cure the grey death that all the characters contracted the first scene of the game through drinking water, would be an over exaggerated example).
