Re: The Devil's in the Details: Gestalt, Evil, Forgotten Realms
So, I had one taker so far to GM this, but I don't think they get the idea that I'm looking to play a chain devil in a game that understands I'm playing a chain devil and not some diplomat (read: a character not designed for considerable amounts of combat). So I thought I might define a scenario that I think would work for this character...it isn't a definitive scenario but should give an idea of what I'm looking for, and if another concept meets the same game play style, by all means suggest it.
Taking a page from the Dark Sun set of novels (and subsequent game books), I'm thinking my character is one of many elite gladiators that are transported around from city to city. While fighting in the coliseum in one of the cities a global catastrophe occurs (or maybe it is something that only immediately affects the city but will spread to other cities in time), regardless...either the elite gladiators (ie: the player's characters) band together and chose to thwart whatever it is rather than claim their freedom...or they are given the choice to thwart the 'greater evil' in order to be issued a pardon (and thus their freedom).
Anyway, something along that line...it could contain other warriors, wizards who battle in the arena with their magic (perhaps a summoner? for example, fighting with the creatures summoned), a cleric (fighting with sword and buffing him/herself with spells and healing him/herself while in combat), a rogue (using stealth and sneak attacks, etc), or whatever class would potentially succeed in an arena/gladiatorial setting.
