The Devil's in the Details: Gestalt, Evil, Forgotten Realms

I'm looking for a GM that will let me gestalt HD and LA as I wish to play a Kyton (using the level progression provided in Savage Species). Also looking for access to a variety of published sources (ie: the Fiendish Codex books) including Forgotten Realms material (ie: Underdark).

Primarily looking for an evil campaign (possibly all Devils, but that isn't a necessity) that intends to provide ample XP to allow the possibility of leveling more than once ever several months (or more).  Group size should be 4 and cover a range of classes (ie: my character would definitely be a tank...so would likely need a healer-type, a rogue-type, and possibly a caster of some sort).

Traits and Flaws from Unearthed Arcana is also desired (max of 2 each at 1st lvl).

I don't think Kython is in Savage Species.

Unless you mean the devil?

There's the alien and the devil type.

Re: The Devil's in the Details: Gestalt, Evil, Forgotten Realms

He said Kyton, which is the Chain Devil. The 'Savage Species' part refers to the monster classes found within, which would allow playing a monstrous race (such as a Kyton in this case) at a lower level than would normally be allowed.

Re: The Devil's in the Details: Gestalt, Evil, Forgotten Realms

So, I had one taker so far to GM this, but I don't think they get the idea that I'm looking to play a chain devil in a game that understands I'm playing a chain devil and not some diplomat (read: a character not designed for considerable amounts of combat).  So I thought I might define a scenario that I think would work for this character...it isn't a definitive scenario but should give an idea of what I'm looking for, and if another concept meets the same game play style, by all means suggest it.

Taking a page from the Dark Sun set of novels (and subsequent game books), I'm thinking my character is one of many elite gladiators that are transported around from city to city.  While fighting in the coliseum in one of the cities a global catastrophe occurs (or maybe it is something that only immediately affects the city but will spread to other cities in time), regardless...either the elite gladiators (ie: the player's characters) band together and chose to thwart whatever it is rather than claim their freedom...or they are given the choice to thwart the 'greater evil' in order to be issued a pardon (and thus their freedom).

Anyway, something along that line...it could contain other warriors, wizards who battle in the arena with their magic (perhaps a summoner? for example, fighting with the creatures summoned), a cleric (fighting with sword and buffing him/herself with spells and healing him/herself while in combat), a rogue (using stealth and sneak attacks, etc), or whatever class would potentially succeed in an arena/gladiatorial setting.

A Half-Fiend cleric of Talos or some other Strength/Storm deity would fit with this, wouldn't it?

Bump

And as a side note, I'm not set on it having to take place in the forgotten realms...if there is another setting a prospective GM would rather use, I'm open to that.

What is your understanding of what it would mean to be "evil?"

Re: The Devil's in the Details: Gestalt, Evil, Forgotten Realms

The committing of 'evil' acts. Being 'the bad guy'.  I still believe an 'evil group' should have a loyalty to those he/she is allied with. Not looking for player vs player scenarios.

Instead of the good party attacking the horde of Troll's that have been attacking the local town... Being the horde of troll's attacking the local town and having to defend against the thwarting attempts of the good party.

Re: The Devil's in the Details: Gestalt, Evil, Forgotten Realms

Still looking for a GM to run a game with the following concept:

Taking a page from the Dark Sun set of novels (and subsequent game books), I'm thinking my character is one of many elite gladiators that are transported around from city to city.  While fighting in the coliseum in one of the cities a global catastrophe occurs (or maybe it is something that only immediately affects the city but will spread to other cities in time), regardless...either the elite gladiators (ie: the player's characters) band together and chose to thwart whatever it is rather than claim their freedom...or they are given the choice to thwart the 'greater evil' in order to be issued a pardon (and thus their freedom).

I still think my Fiendish Cleric would be a good mesh for a character like this too...
