Shadowrun 5e, Adult

Welp, since Numenera never happened, why not some of that new-fangled Shadowrunning? I've got concepts for all manner of runners I'd like to use in an rp, be in Seattle, Berlin, Tokyo . . . extremely openminded on where the rp actually takes place as long as it's one of the bigger sprawls. Adult-rating requested for obvious reasons, since it isn't a Shadowrun game (in my opinion) if there isn't a little sleeze and canoodling here and there. Small group or solo with good GM intervention is preferred.

Re: Shadowrun 5e, Adult

Sounds similar to what I've been looking for, but for the interest in canoodling. It's been a warning sign previously, along with seductress mentor spirits, addiction: sex, Shinto tradition miko priestesses, etc ...

Re: Shadowrun 5e, Adult

Well, to be fair, all those are pretty heavy into the genre, just like drugs, gratuitous violence, harsh language, getting screwed by Mr. Johnson, and never, ever making a deal with a dragon.

Re: Shadowrun 5e, Adult

Exactly, everything srgrosse just said. I'm going to be eventually running SR5 for my friends IRL, once I have a better handle on everything, and I know for damned sure that the local runner hideaway is going to be hidden in a Seattle hotel that was renovated into a club/brothel. Best place to grab information from most money levels, right?

Re: Shadowrun 5e, Adult

[after some conversation]
Drugs, gratuitous violence, harsh language, and occasional betrayal are part of what make the genre "hi-tech & low-life"; if it's not the same Robocop, Total Recall, Johnny Mnemonic (or Shadowrun) without it, it bears showing up in the game.
If any players want to explore particular brands of roleplaying through PM or private threads the GM has set up, I'll be happy as long as it doesn't hold up anything else or spill beyond that.
That's my take on it as a potential player, for anyone considering GMing.

I also have an shadowrun 5th itch that I need scratching. Never played it though but I have read through almost the entire book.

Re: Shadowrun 5e, Adult

Having just made the leap from 4th edition to 5th, I too would be interested in doing more than peruse the rulebook.

I've a predilection for Riggers and Samurai, but I'm willing to fill whatever role a group would need.  Er, except GM.  Wanna be a player this time out.  :)

Re: Shadowrun 5e, Adult

Well, I trend towards magic types, so if a game comes, that's what I usually play.

In reply to ReverseAdonis (msg # 1):

Btw way just letting you know I and a couple of others have Numenera games open--if you are still interested you may be able to slide into one.

Also I'd enjoy a good Shadowrun game--I need to get 5e though all I have is 4 and older.

Re: Shadowrun 5e, Adult

I am currently trying to get a Shadowrun (4th edition) game started. I have one other player (who is a newbie to the system as well), so the addition of you would be no problem. We want to keep the group small, no more than 4 people (5 MAX), this way anyone new to the system can learn it easier, and we can go at a slower pace until everyone learns the game well enough. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I am not put off by questions until they get to the "trying to out-game the GM" stage.

Currently I am taking player applications. When I get enough, I will go over all of the RTJs to decide which characters would fit best into the game.

Feel free to submit more than one character concept.

Please let me know either way if you are interested.

The game is rated ADULT. I have one (possibly 2) Players new to the system, so at first we will start out a bit slower to get them used to the game, after that, things will speed up.

Here is a link to my game --->    Runner Stories - Living in the Rotten Apple

Hope to hear from you!

Re: Shadowrun 5e, Adult

That's cool ... Anyone running a 5e game, though?

I like groups that use char bios to describe their character, expy avoidance, and long walks on the beach with strafing machinegun fire. Pink mohawk or black trenchcoat optional.
