D&D with animals

So I've had interesting results using the "convert monsters into pc races" rule as applied to animals (minus the intelligence stat). I've created a couple of "reverse Druids" this way (an animal Druid with a human "animal" companion). I've also done a wolf Druid with a pack of wolf followers. And I made a rat sorcerer that was pretty neat.

Anyway, I thought a campaign where all of the characters were animals like this could be interesting. I'm not thinking a rats of nimh thing or a mice Templar thing (where all the characters in the world are animals) but rather an adventure where animal pcs are engaging in a human based world. Perhaps we are all experiments of a wizard or an escaped pack of familiars. We could all be the same animal type (water ship down style) or a collection.

Anyone willing to take that challenge on?

In reply to Bod Man (msg # 1):

I tried to do it once using Heneyokai stats for theresults of the magical accident that made them pc qualified. I couldn't get enough interest, so it's hard to say how it would have worked out.

Re: D&D with animals

Assuming you mean hengeyokai, that's not exactly what I'm going for. I'm not suggesting mutant animals like the tmnt. I'm suggesting animals that are typical animals, except that they have intelligence on par with humans. Perhaps with a few look the other way elements as it relates to manipulating objects.

For stats, I'm proposing using this rule: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/mons...yScoresforMonsterPCs with the exception that intelligence score is rolled normally.
