Prohibition-Era Gangsters, See?
Apparently I'm on a crime games kick. This one's a bit more approachable, though, I hope.
What I'm looking for is pretty much what it says on the tin, a game of Prohibition-era gangsters running bootleg booze, laundering dirty money, and leaning out of suicide doors with Chicago Typewriters. Classic mob movie stuff. Overall, I'm thinking something a little more involved than a kick-in-the-door shoot-em-up with three piece suits and weird slang. Something that requires some thought, planning, and a long-term goal: Taking your little gang of nobodies and turning them into the most powerful mob in history.
System-wise, I'm not 100% sure. I'm most familiar with d20 and Cortex, but I really don't think d20 would properly reflect the feel I'm after. Cortex is still certainly an option, but I'm willing to learn something else to do this right. I'm passingly familiar with the old Gangbusters system, but no idea if anyone still runs the thing.
Thoughts and suggestions are just as welcome as GMs willing to run.
