A Unique d20 Fantasy Solo Campaign
Having played a lot of campaigns over the years, i'm always looking to try new ideas. If I can find someone to run it, the idea for this campaign is "a game within a game." I would essentially play a character and the "player" who plays the character in a tabletop game. The DM would play the "DM" as well as the other "players." You would be able to have full use of plenty of DMPCs without complaint.
As for the system, I would be interested in:
- D&D 3.5
- Pathfinder
- Microlite20 - which would be pretty cool!
The concept: The DM and his group have been playing together for years. My "player" is a new gamer who has been invited as an addition to the group. With a new campaign starting, the DM is widely considered to be the best in the area. For this campaign, the DM has purchased the most awesome set of miniatures imaginable (although we don't really have to keep up with that or use it in the game). The characters will begin with whatever their chosen miniatures appearance is. My "player" arrives to the game last, and with exactly enough high quality miniatures to have one for each player, only one remains.
As blank character sheets are passed out, the other players are delighted when the DM gleefully places the miniature of the female warrior in thong bikini armor in front of the new player. At last, the DM finally has a campaign with a token female PC!
I would like to use the house rule that says it isn't really "armor" it provides no armor bonus, but the character adds her charisma modifier as a circumstance bonus to her armor class. So much for charisma being a "dump stat!"
From here, yes, things would be "stereotypical" and utterly sexist with my poor "player" suffering the full brunt of what that is like. Villains trying to capture her, monsters making her a damsel in distress, patronization from both the other characters and the "players", generally being less powerful than the men in the party, and any magic armor discovered in the future is only of the bikini variety, etc.
