A bit of dungeoneering

I'm looking for a (preferably) solo game of dungeon exploration.

Not so much looking for a classic dungeon crawl, ie bash doors take loot and kill monsters. What I am looking is for a long term game inspired by something like Ultima Underworld ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U...d:_The_Stygian_Abyss ) where the dungeon is a microcosmic world with its own societies, structures, etc and the player is part of a bigger plot that crosses over the dungeon world.

I'm not terribly fussed over the system, having said that I must say I don't particularly like level systems (ex. AD&D) , much preferring either skill based systems (ex. BRP) or light systems (ex. The Window), but, for the right game and GM I will go for whatever system is more suitable.

Thanks!

Re: A bit of dungeoneering

Since no one else has posted, I'm definitely interested in running this. I'd love to craft a megadungeon around one character. I reallywant to test my own skills as a GM, and a single PC environment is the perfect place.

That being said, I'm mainly familar with DnD, Pathfinder, and Dungeon World. Just recently I've been looking at Tavern Tales. I'm open to any system, including Freeform. I prefer rules light/narrative. You should know I've tried for a long time to run a long term campaign IRL, but it's never worked. I'm also fairly new to the PBP system for RPGs.

I'm not familiar with the Ultima series, but I have played Planescape:Torment, which may be similar. I tend to draw inspiration from the Metroid series for exploration. Adjudication is my strong point. Storytelling needs improvement.

If you need to know anything else ask away.
