D&D 5e 3rd level or higher

So the basic 5e PDF is available, and it looks like it's a solid game. My only major complaint is I like more competent characters and levels one and two seem like the apprentice levels where you can't really do much. To that end, i'd love to play a game starting at 3rd level or higher if any GM out there is interested. I'm open to any setting, theme, mood or whatever as long as I can start at 3.

Id love to play a higher level game if you get a dm im down already know what im playing lol. Make it an adult/mature game. Best roleplay ever! Thats how all the irl tabletop games are no censorship no age friendly tone downs which is how roleplay games were intended to be played.

I would also like to play D&D 5e Basic. I'd like to be an archer fighter or a wizard.

Re: D&D 5e 3rd level or higher

I was thinking on running a game of summoners and their higher more powerful summoned warriors fighting a war for the ultimate prize. (If you ever watched Fate stay night and/or Fate/Zero, like that). Each summoner would be a low level PC and each Summoned warrior (a dead great hero/villain)  would be a higher level PC in the 5-7 range. Something of a Mature thing (Again like in FSN/Fate Zero). Does this tickle your fancy? (Don't be deceived by the names, both the summoner and the champion can be any class)

Or a more traditional module if you don't mind monsters straight of the playtest (I don't have the starter set yet). For level 6-7th PCs.

I might be down for this. Give me some more details, and it looks like you may have a few people interested. It'd also be a great way to try out a bunch of different character setups at once.

Re: D&D 5e 3rd level or higher

Ok, details:

The game is sandboxy in nature, in the sense that it is player who will instigate the major conflicts. It is going to be "modern world plus magic" but swords and bows will still play a significant part (with guns being refluffed crossbows).

  • Each player makes a 3rd lever PC "the summoner" or "master", this summoner has a wish or desire that can be granted by winning the war for the grail (But can be any class, the grail chooses the masters. Expect families of mages being involved, but any muggle can be chosen as a master).
  • In addition each player makes an 8th level PC "The hero" or "servant", a temporally resurrected legendary hero who must have a motivation for taking part in the war.
  • Each player can also play one or more support characters around other masters. (These are all 1st level and rolled)
  • Servants are assigned to different Masters (in order for players to have interaction and it not devolving into four or five solo games). Servants in general follow their masters orders, but they are still capable of independent thought and action, and thus they aren't obliged to act as robots for the masters.
  • Each Master has three command seals, they can be used to issue incontrovertible orders to the servants they just have to obey, but each order costs a seal, and once a master loses all seals, he/she loses control of the servant.
  • If a master dies, the servant is released, but has only between one to three days to live before finding a replacement master.
  • If a master died, but still had command seals, another person can claim the seals and become a master.
  • If a servant dies, the master can make a pact with a free servant.
  • If a player losses both characters, he/she can make another 3rd level character and try to force their way back into the action.
  • Finally remember the war is just a set-up, if the action leads to other paths we will follow them.

So how does it sound?

Not interested in doing 'modern world plus magic' at all. I'd honestly prefer something a bit more standard fantasy, though you did give me a great idea for a game premise.

Would still love to play this if a GM is up for it. I'm down with trying 5e, but i don't want to be 1st-level anything.

Re: D&D 5e 3rd level or higher

Ok, then let me try something else. How about a campaign set in Neverwinter and partially in Luskan featuring a small intensity war between them? A big problem right now is that we don't have an official bestiary nor budget rules, so anything has to start right at first level to go with the adventures. This proposal would be at eight level and feature lots of humanoid enemies, and start having more monsters once we get a bestiary in basic. How does that sound?

That works for me. I'm not opposed to it by any means, by why eight?
