Beginner Game of Shadowrun?

I recently picked up Shadowrun Returns, and it's been a blast. Absolutely delightful, from beginning to end, and now I'm interested in trying out the actual pen and paper version (albeit in a play by post environment!). I understand there're five editions out, and either fourth or fifth would probably be the two I'd be interested in learning, but I'm really open to anything.

If you've got a love of Shadowrun and the patience for a newbie, please let me know!

Throwing my hat in the interested players ring. (Sorry if the new post count got your hopes up Hex.)

Re: Beginner Game of Shadowrun?

I've gotten a little more experience since I posted this, so I can now refine my search to: 4th's 20th Anniversary Edition, Karma Generation, and Adult.  Hopefully someone will be interested in GMing a game for us, Gremlin!

Re: Beginner Game of Shadowrun?

I'd like to try out a shadowrun game as well.  I have next to no experience, but I got my hands on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th edition books.  Not sure if I have the 20th anniversary edition, but hopefully there isn't too much difference.

Re: Beginner Game of Shadowrun?

It's a pretty major difference, insofar as the fact they applied errata to everything (from what I understand, anyways).  It changed things like the cost of attributes, the pages things were on, et cetera.  I'm unsure if it would be something you could work with by accessing the errata file, or if it would necessitate the actual book.  =(

Re: Beginner Game of Shadowrun?

well, if it comes to that, I can try to get the book.  a GM is sort of needed first, though.

Re: Beginner Game of Shadowrun?

That's definitely true.  With any luck, someone will swing by and have the desire to run a module or a game of their own design!
